Currently on the 4th secret ballot withing the GOP and Emmer has 100 votes to become the nominee. He needs 112.

Several Democrats have announced that they will vote "present" if Emmer is the nominee to lower his threshold to gain the speakership. Primarily because he not only voted to certify the last election, but he also voted to keep protections for same sex couples. Conversely, those exact same reasons are why several Republicans will never support him.

You wonder if they have reached the point of no return. They appear to be backing Trump and this Project 2025 to reshape America. I just hope people get out and vote like they did in 2020 to send a clear message that Trump is a clear and present danger if he is elected president.

If this is the case I'm not sure I understand the point of selling it from Trudeau's standpoint. It will make that money back eventually. And the Conservatives are usually the idiots who wind up selling infrastructure and having it wrapped around their necks for a generation so why not just wait for them to do the inevitable?

What I hope for is more and more of the wingnuts run as independents and Trump keeps telling people not to vote which will give the Democrats a solid majority. Then it would be great if the Democrats could fix two big problems that have shown themselves of late.

1) Make it so speaker can be elected by a simple majority.
2) Don't let anyone elected by maps that their own states find unconstitutional sit on any committee or have their votes count for speaker.
