Podcasts - KOZN

Listen to the podcast of the Cody Green interview from Unsportsmanlike Conduct today. It is segment 12 on Nov 9.

This is a GREAT interview with Cody. I was hard on Cody earlier this week on here but I also said that I love that he has stood in front of every microphone that was put in front of him and answered every single question without a bad attitude. The other thing I loved about this interview was his thoughts on the recruiting world that we live in today and how it is handled. I already had some respect for Cody but I have so much more after this interview. It is different reading an interview from him that is edited in print than actually listening to the words come out of his mouth.

And this is what I have known about him since his junior year in high school......... which is why I was so excited when we got him...... much like with aaron green.......

But some people fail to comprehend that just because I like to follow recruiting- doesn't mean I'm looking soley at a number of stars by their name........ hell- there is no fucking way i could even care about character.....

Listen, Cody is a great guy........this has been known. Just watch him on the sideline.........when Taylor comes running off Cody is always right there to tell him good job and to try and help him. Same with Zac...........both are great guys.

With that said, I am starting to jump on that bandwagon of "Cody could be utilized in some other way to help this team out."

Taylor is a 4 year starting QB...........Cody is going to get minimal playing time at best over the course of his career at Nebraska. I think people just want to not pay any attention to it, but it can be clearly seen.

Cody is a big guy.......bulk him up a little more and you have a guy who could really help the offense out as far as blocking and possible short passing plays. He honestly has the potential build of a tight-end.

By the way, people will say "how do we know Cody can catch???"

He's a QB.............QB's have the softest hands out of any players on the team. Everyone knows that.

So..........

Basically what you are saying JJM.......

Is that we have no need for a backup QB??????

We have other "QB"s who are a lot more athletic than cody...... Carnes could be a hell of a reciever.... same could be set about starling- possibly turner...

No, what I am saying is that Cody Green deserves better than to just be standing on the sidelines........he has athletic talent.......and after this season we have QBs who could potentially pass him up.

I say let him be the leader that he is by allowing him to get out there and make some plays.

It all depends on what the coaches think........

I think fans trying to make personnel decisions regarding moving one player to another position is even sillier than trying to project how a hs kid is gonna do in college....

Unless you are in practice- what do we know?

Yea I am going off what I see in the games.........it is apparent that with the direction this offense is going, there is no place for Green at QB. It's just the way it is.

Our offense requires a QB who can get out of the blocks in a hurry.......otherwise the read-zone option just doesn't work. You have to have a quick QB to make defenders bite on that. Green just doesn't have it.

Yea when Zac took that last knee when we beat Mizzou, you could tell he was happy as hell.......and he knew he didn't do much to make that victory happen, but he is just a team player and wants to win. I love that guy

"Zach Keller passes for 5 TDs and runs for 3 more as the Huskers roll to a 28-14 win in overtime"
