I hated the McCarthy hiring when I first heard about it. But everything I've been reading about him focusing more on analytics and trying to reinvent himself does get me excited. But what sold me the most was the hiring of John Fassel just now. Seemed like Garrett never gave a damn about Special Teams outside the kicker position. McCarthy on Day 1 already showing he gives a damn about ST. Gonna be interesting to see Dak, Amari, Gallup, and Zeke in the West Coast offense. Hope we find a big play TE. Maybe we already have one with Jarwin.

Get that kid out of Missouri if we want a big play TE.

We found out this past season how important special teams are and how it can affect games. Cowboys lost the field position battle every game and the special teams largely to blame. Hiring fossle is a great move. Mccarthy studied all the teams and tape for over a year. He knew Garrett was on the hot seat. You can bet he spent lots of time watching the Cowboys. You bring back cobb on a fair two year deal. We got the perfect players to run the WCO with pollard,jarwin,zeke etc

Garrett can go be OC for Gisnts. His playcalling stinks. The giants to me get D- grade for their coaching hires. Turns into a F if they hire Garret as OC. Skins on the other hand did much better

I hope kitna comes back as assistant although Mccarthy coaches QBs well. I think the constant use of shotgun formation needs to be tempered. On defense spend a pick on a big DT for once. I really wanted akiem hicks and we passed on him back in the day

McCarthy was not my 1st choice to be the new cowboys HC. Urban Meyer was. Always liked mccarthy though and thought this Garret shit was going to drag out until the 14th and thought Mccarthy would be gone and accept the position somewhere else. The compelling and surprising thing to me is Mccarthy basically got to pick the assistants that he wanted.

Jerruh does not allow that to happen for many coaches so that tells me Mccarthy is going to have lots of power and could be a rude awakening for the players. Mccarthy is going to command respect. He is not going to be buddies and clap when things are not going well. The further this goes along the more I like it
