So it’s now official:

HC: Mike McCarthy
OC: Kellen Moore
DC: Mike Nolan
ST: Jim Fassel
D-Line: Jim Tomsula

Now that’s how you put together a competent coaching staff :thumb: Can’t wait for the season to start already.
Now that we have a DC I am hoping Richard is back. I love him as a DB coach, just thought he crashed and burned as our pseudo DC and Kitna seemed to be great for Dak :hope:

Trying to remember what the hell Garrett did in 2017 that was so damned aggressive.

My memory fails at this juncture of aging.
I think we went for it on 4th down a few times instead of long FG or punt when it wasn't a must

You seem angry. Miserable, even.

Went and looked at the schedule and saw the Green Bay & Atlanta games and immediately felt sad that I remembered those.

Memory isn’t too bad when I’m prompted.

With Mike Nolan becoming our DC.
Has anyone heard if we are changing to a 3-4 or will we keep our 4-3?
God I am hoping we stay with the 4-3.

you know I was thinking about Kellen Moore.
I like the plays & formations he brought to the Cowboys last year. So I like where his head is at in formulating plays.
Most of his growing pains came at calling the plays in the game.
With McCarthy here. I think Moore can continue to architect the plays but let the experienced McCarthy call them in the game & it could be a nice marriage. Moore can learn more about play calling from this so down the road when he has some seasoning he can be excellent at the play calling.

God I am hoping we stay with the 4-3.
He likes to use both schemes. We will be adding some scheme versatile DLinemen. This is a great thing IMO. This defense has been far to vanilla and not even close to physical enough

Nolan has coached both 3-4 and 4-3 defenses but tends to prefer the 3-4 defense.

while I believe this to be true.
If it werent, he would still say that to the public right now.
Man, he's pretty much cleaned house. Kellen is considered a pretty sharp mind, I do think Jerry pushed to keep him, but that's it

I can get on board with that. He was not ready to play call last year IMO. Some stupid calls in red zone and first down run plays 90% of the time. Not a fan of Moore, but we will see.

yeah I wanted to keep moore if McCarthy agreed, but other than that I wanted to clean house in the coaching staff.
So it is all good to me.

Yea Jerry knows he ain’t got much time left and gotta stop fucking around. He, the front office, McCarthy & the whole coaching staff are all DETERMINED to get that super bowl. I fucking love it, can’t remember being this excited for the next season.

I'm fine with keeping Moore because he clearly has potential. He just needs to be taught how to coach at this level and a new Offense is sorely needed. If we go through all of this and don't change our Offensive and Defensive schemes it won't matter.
