He's getting good goaltending. That's all coaching really is. The second Driedger comes back down to earth (okay maybe he won't but...) they're back to the middle of the pack or worse.

Based on watching the local team I would swear coaching is about moving players all throughout the lineup and bitching when they don't perform in the role you just moved them out of. "Domi had a shit game and was not playing like a 2C" "But he was 4LW this game" "NO MORE QUESTIONS"

And of course benching every fifth player to make a mistake for somewhere between a period and the rest of the season.

Flames (as bad as they were last year) almost caught the Habs for that final playoff spot. That run to the Cup finals masked a lot of problems with Montreal.

They were the 18th best team in the regular season last year league-wide. The Leafs and Jets just completely shit the bed against them (and Vegas, but who cares about them).

I'm not quite sure I get why Caufield is so expected to produce. He's still a rookie, even if he had a bit of success putting up points in last year's playoffs. Never a recipe for success.

That was an all time choker yesterday. It isn’t fair to the players to keep having to play for Ruff. Dude’s done.

I think I saw the other day that there were 12 coaches in the league currently that either had an interim tag or were in the final year of their contract. I think we can expect several teams to have a new bench boss next season.

Evason and Smith right now. A couple week losing streak and I would add Keefe, Sullivan, Berube and Granato (especially when the Sabres start their annual post-October nosedive).
