Very rare that a flagrant foul is so obvious.

Don't see a lot of NBA players INTENTIONALLY going after the throat area of another player because his teammate got injured on a BASKETBALL PLAY.

I honestly hadn't even considered that Perkins did that because of Love's injury? On the one hand it makes sense, cause Perkins hit him with a very hard screen and instantly looked confrontational... out of nowhere.

On the other hand it makes no sense. Why Crowder? Love was tangled with Olynyk when he got hurt?

Either way Perk was being stupid and did deserve an ejection IMO.

I just don't see the "Perk took a cheap shot on Crowder... therefore the Celts should lay out LeBron or Irving"? Makes no sense.

I wonder if either of you have such a desire to see justice everytime an NBA player throws a cheap shot and/or commits a flagrant foul?? I doubt it.

Actually, I do. I liked the way the game was played in the 80's and 90's. There were things like "no layups" rules and if a star player (or any player) from one team got clocked, then an equal (or close to it) player for the opposing team got clocked.

Just like the old Heat games.... third-party fans are only interested in the game as long as it looks like the Cavs/Heat have a chance of losing.

Fair enough, I have no reason not to take you at your word.

... But Crowder for LeBron? Seriously?

I'm probably a good bit older than you. I remember when Kevin McHale clotheslined Kurt Rambis in the finals. It wasn't even a technical foul. Rambis got 2 free throw, period.

If that happened today, he'd have gotten a flagrant 2, been ejected from the game, suspended for at least 2 additional games, fined and some people would call for him to be kicked out of the league.

It's about how valuable the player is to his individual team. Is Crowder less important to the Celtics than Lebron is to the Cavs?

Of course, Crowder isn't equal to Lebron as an overall player. But he is a very important player to the Celtics.
