The line has looked pretty good, inconsistent, but still good nonetheless. Ya'll may not be able to count on 21 points from defense and special teams though, Melvin Ingram is no CJ

:bounce:

Just a little piece of advice if you ever bet on a Clemson sporting event: NEVER pick Clemson when they're an overwhelming favorite to cover or to win period, but they're usually a good (but still risky) pick when they're the dogs.

That is true for most teams.

Auburn has given up 979 yards in their 1st games. That's 489.5 yards/game. No way my money is going on them on the road. Defense is also allowing nearly 60% on 3rd down conversions. And if you watched the MSU game, you know that many of those 3rd downs were 3rd and long situations. D just can't get off the field.

Curious to see the over/under for this game; neither defense is exactly lighting it up

Clemson had a close one last week with Wofford just as Ohio St. with Toledo.

I expect both teams to come out and play a good game.

LOL @ thinking you've seen anything but vanilla from either side of the ball so far. The goals of playing weaker non-conference opponents are to: a) win by whatever margin b) get younger, inexperienced guys reps c) not get injured d) not give away anything to allow "real" opponents to properly game plan. 14 points were the result of two busted coverages (Clemson had 3 of 4 starting DBs out the entire game) and the Wofford QB was 2 for 8 with 127 yards. The good thing for us is that we played just about as bad as we could have the first two games and still managed to win. Not that it's any excuse, but Wofford did win the Southern Conference last season and Troy has had something like 3 or 4 10 win seasons, so it's not like we played Utah State or anything...

There's no excuse for struggling to beat an FCS team. Troy's pretty good usually and will probably make a bowl game, but I think Utah State is better.

You're right on one accord, but Utah State was 4-8 last year while Troy is the three-time defending conference champ.

I wouldn't tout last year's Troy team too much. I think we had 50+ on them by halftime.

Auburn should blow out Clemson

but because they're Auburn they'll probably struggle with Clemson but somehow pull the win out at the last moment.

I doubt either will pull out. The only question is "which will be which?"
