Clausen Waived Fales Promoted to #2 QB

John Fox announced Monday that the Bears had waived backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen and promoted David Fales to the 53-man roster.

Fox acknowledged there was outside interest in Fales, which means a team was trying to sign him off the Bears' practice squad. Last year, the Patriots and Chargers reportedly had interest in Fales and the Bears moved him to the active roster.

Speculation is that Baltimore who is in need of a QB after Flacco tore his ACL, and employes the "QB whisperer" Tresty Tresterson... was the team interested in Fales a QB he drafted.
They might now turn to Clausen. Good Luck with all that Tresty!

Well that's good news. Not sure why it took so long. My wife watched Clauson play and it took 5 minutes for her to ask, is this guy really a pro football player? I told her he is a pro draft slot manager.

Osweiller was not bad for 4 years of work and no nfl team really having much film on him. Hell, maybe they said why waste the time with Claussen and lets see what we might have with Fales after Osweiller beat them. At least it makes me feel like there was at least an attempt to develop our own backup
