Norton should have won best supporting actor that year. He was also robbed for an oscar for American History X as well

WTF happened to Norton?

He used to do such great roles:

People vs Larry Flynt
American History X
Primal Fear
Rounders
Fight Club

He peaked too early.

Primal fear was very good and had a brilliant ending. Was it really Norton's first? It's too bad he was opposite that douche...

Yep it was his first movie. What a way to break into the business huh.

That's beside the point. Classic movies are classic movies. Others I could have included were,

Sergeant York
Best Years of our Lives
Gone With the Wind
Ben Hur
Close Encounters of a 3rd Kind

Not a bad list there. Stalag 17 is a true classic. Loved Guns of Navarone.

I've been scratching my head about Norton myself. He's one of my personal favorite actors in the 90s and early 2000s. There's many theories out there about why Norton has fallen out of grace.

Some say that it's his personality. He can be too controlling artistically and often imposes his vision on a director.

Others say Norton hasn't really fallen out of grace at all...he's just chosen a different path with the type of roles to play. Unlike most A-list caliber actors...Norton isn't necessarily concerned about his star power and status. He chooses roles that challenge him as an actor rather than the role that will lead to the highest grossing movie. Hence why many fans see his most recent roles as sort of questionable roles but to Edward it's exactly what he wants to do with his career.

In my opinion I think it's the latter.

In no particular order:

Fiddler On The Roof

West Side Story

Breakfast At Tiffany's

Charade

And as a native Oklahoman I have to list
OKLAHOMA!

Even Texans should like that last.

what kind of movies do you actually like?

12 hours, pack lethal weapons 1-4 and call it a day.

You gotta consider hot stewardesses though so lets get some titles of mile high clubs he could be playing as she walks by.

At least you listed good movies. I always liked Oklahoma. Great Rogers & Hammerstein musical. Not a real fan of West Side Story, but most movie historians have it in the top 100 of all time.

Nothing you mentioned, and the word "classic," belong in the same sentence.

Somehow you need to include 12 O'clock High with Gregory Peck if you're going with WWII movies. And then there is "The Longest Day" which had more stars than any movie made this side of "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World".

Shit, add Roman Holiday, Sabrina and Funny Face to make it an Audrey Hepburn marathon.

Granted it wasn't much for not knowing the ending but the cast of stars still makes it a good movie. It is a lot better than any of the movies they've made about the Battle of Bulge...or a lot of the Pacific Theater movies too, though Operation Petticoat or Father Goose are fun to watch just for the comedy.

no Mutany on the Bounty, West by Northwest, The Birds (alfreds version), Executive Decision, Spirit of St Louis would be good on a plane ride
