It's funny that this was just tweeted out today. Yesterday I looked up NFL defensive team stats in yardage and points. I was somewhat surprised to see that we were elite/top 5 nearly all-around. It's just the lack of big plays that has it feeling like we're "less dominant". Over this hellish last month; it's been that lack of a Mack strip-sack or the big INT by our secondary when we have needed it.
We all talked about the turnover regression that was likely to come this season. The injury to Hicks probably facilitated this further; I think it's the cause of a lot of things. This is what we are without our D bailing us out with turnovers (or even scoring for us) it seems.
It's not that they've been bad. They've actually been very good. It's just that this SLIGHT difference means the world. Especially with the offense regressing from "middling-ish" to "putrid". It feels like it's been this huge drop-off.
