You need to ask yourself, would you trade for Sale? Nuff said
If Boston knew then what they know now, I can't imagine they make that trade again. Seems like the White Sox GM knew something that everyone else did not.

K's also run up a pitch count. Randy Johnson said one of the keys to the second half dominance of his career was his willingness to take fly ball outs instead of always pushing for strikeouts. It's really hard to go 8-9 innings with a high strikeout total.
Given the Red Sox bullpen woes, Alex Cora would probably prefer to have Sale get a few less K's if he can give him another scoreless inning.
He went 7 and gave up 1 run and left with the lead. I'm not gonna put this one on him. This one is on the pen.
Not sure "stand up guy" is what i would apply to him.Always been a stand up guy. Far too rare in pro sports nowadays if you ask this gentleman.
easy! And Chris Sale is not just your "average" starter. So comparing him with the entirety of MLB is assuming that Sale is just your average player.
I would expect that to really do this comparison fairly, he should be compared against the other players in the league who are considered the elite.
How do his IP/Start compare to guys like Verlander, Scherzer, Giolito, Montas, Ryu, Greinke, Castilla, etc? That's the number we ought to be looking for.
It is working so far, but it sure would be nice to have a solid innings eater to give the pen a break once in a while
easy!
overall, sale averages 6.00 exactly per start. that includes a 3 IP and 4 IP start ion his first 4. but in his last 10 hes 6.78 per start.
verlander - 6.64 IP per start overall, last 10 he's at 7 IP per start on the nose.
scherzer - 6.58 per start overall, last 10 he's 6.52 IP per start
gioloto - 6.25 IP/start overall, last 10 hes 6.4 or so IP per start
these are based on per inning as a whole, not in 3rds.

The Orioles comped me with 2 standing room tickets. You guys gonna be there? Would painting your chests be too much to ask?
Hey!! Now that's an idea!!!How about you supply chicken suits.

Ok, what if I provided chicken suits???No can do, still recovering from the Memorial Day weekend camping trip and a lot of the nail marks on my upper body probably shouldn't be covered with paint.
its a statistically valid sample size for recent performance, so i did it for all. you can see a trend in IP/start. its also why i kinda spelled it out for you in my last post. he had a 3 IP and 4 IP fart early on.Why do you keep talking only about his last ten starts? He has 14 starts. Not 10.

granted Moncado looks elite, but I would trade a package of prospects for an established star anytime, depending on contract status. No rentals.
