I want to say something now so that it's on the record, in drafts there are maybe two or three QB's that actually make some noise in the NFL. This years class will probably yield three of them, of the three Lamar Jackson will be one of them, unless he's the latest to be switched to another position. I could be wrong, but if not you heard it from me first.

If Jackson gets in the right offense he could have an RG3 type impact in year one. I agree with that.

Long may have been playing better than Jackson last season before the injury.

I do believe this is the first time he invoked the name Demarcus Lawrence to go after Trent Murphy.

While I agree with you in principal concerning Bruce working under Dan's instruction, Bruce was hired as GM and later add President to his titles. As a man who supposed to be the football mind in the front his primary responsibility is to give sound advice, and make prudent moves, on all matters football. Money and getting paid is fine and dandy, doing the right things for the company that you work for can't be compromised under any circumstance, not even to temporarily please your boss. AS team president, he has a fiduciary responsibility to keep the team in good standing.

You are right no other GM would survive b/c that GM had 100% control. The reason why Bruce is surviving b/c he doenst have 100% control. Dan is behind most of the moves. Dan cant fire himself. This is why its tough to evaluate Bruce as a GM b/c we don't really know what type of power he has.

I honestly don't believe that there are any GM's in the league with 100% control. These are business decisions and they don't own the business. Full, non ownership autonomy is a myth in the NFL just as it is with free agency, prohibitive tampering rules and so many other things designed to give the public a "best face" image of the league. (see side note **)

Beyond that, and for the sake of discussion, let's say that you're right and Bruce doesn't and must have 100% control to properly evaluate him. Doesn't it stand to reason that not having full control is problematic? Bruce himself must stand for what is right and from that perspective... the authoritative standard in the NFL that allows him to fully do his job. Again it is his responsibility to assure the organization is functioning properly by typical NFL standards, not just as GM, but as team President as well.

**SN: The Kirk Cousins deal will get done at the Combine despite rules prohibiting tampering. It happens all of the time with GM's and player reps/agents.

There is no drop off in quality of play from KC to Smith. You don't understand that. It doenst matter what KC can do he wasn't signing back here. you refuse to accept that. We had to make a move and the move we made could put us in playoff contention. You don't even think we are a playoff team with Smith? That is insane and pure hate.

8 win team ? we have an older qb we lost 2 of our top 3 cbs , on a 21st ranked defense we lost a draft pick that cost us a top 100 pick . we have gotten worse . could it change at FA or the draft yes it could but our 2 for 5 hit rate on FA with one push and a flop 2nd round draft pick leaves me questioning it
