Tom Brady Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.comLOL no it wasn't. Brady was 6th and Winston was 8th. Can you even try and educate yourself on the subject before trying to say it's BS? This is why I keep ripping you Cowboys' fans. You don't even research what I'm saying. You just instantly call it a bullshit metric because it doesn't paint Dak in a good light.
NFL Total Quarterback Rating - National Football League - ESPNTom Brady Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Brady's 2018 QBR 68.8
Jameis Winston Stats | Pro-Football-Reference.com
Winston's 2018 QBR 71.8
Unless I am reading that wrong.
Honestly, it's not just Cowboy fans calling QBR total BS. ESPN conjured up this metric to support the idiot analysts they have. I'm on record on here saying both QB rating stats are bullshit, even when they put my QB in a positive light.LOL no it wasn't. Brady was 6th and Winston was 8th. That's perfectly fair. I'm certainly not saying it's the end all/be all, but it isn't as if it's based on the color of his cleats or something. Of course the salary part is speculation, and I'm certainly not saying I'd take Winston over Dak all things being equal, but if I can have him for that much less (or even more, based on the salary talks I'm hearing), I'd take that. $15m+ is a lot of money that can be used to add other impact players at important positions or retain important players. My point is I just haven't seen enough from Dak to think he himself is more valuable than another decent QB and another potential stud at another important position.Honestly, it's not just Cowboy fans calling QBR total BS. ESPN conjured up this metric to support the idiot analysts they have. I'm on record on here saying both QB rating stats are bullshit, even when they put my QB in a positive light.
I'm not calling Dak great or anything either. The kid has a ways to go but I think I would want him every day of the week over Winston. And the 15 mil salary different argument doesn't really fly. At least, not right now. It's all speculation but I don't think Dak gets Wilson or Rodgers money.
Well now we have two versions of the same thing. If that isnt a BS stat I dont know what is.
Again, I've never said it's the end all/be all, but it isn't as if the metric takes into account things that have nothing to do with how a QB plays. There were other qualitative metrics like DYOA and DVOA where Winston and many others finished ahead of Dak. It's not surprising to me that Dak was higher than Mayfield, he was a rookie who didn't even start until week 4 and he was dealing with the worst head coach in modern NFL history until week 9. He wasn't perfect as a rookie by any means, but he clearly showed game-breaking promise.Well now we have two versions of the same thing. If that isnt a BS stat I dont know what is.
but for Shits & giggles.
Any rating system shows Brady 6th & Winston 8th & Wilson is 11th, should be enough proof of that rating system being a joke.
Just gave you what I guess ESPN is calling RAW QBR which literally has Winston ahead of Brady LOL
That is a major part of the ESPN formula. Which shows all that needs to be shown to my point.
I have been talking shit about all the QB ratings long before Dak was ever a Cowboy.
Tony Romo's last real season had a 113.2 rating & a 79.7 QBR (not sure what the ESPN version would be) & I give no shits about those stats. because they are Bullshit stats. Sorry if my point of view stays consistent & doesnt go with your agenda.
But this has always been my point of view of that joke of a formula. Before Dak came here & will be long after Dak is gone.
So again. Me thinking it is a BS stat has nothing to do with what QB I am talking about good or bad or what color cleats they wear.
BTW in this silly link you gave. It does have Dak 17th. Also has Mayfield 23rd out of 33.
Sounds like in your mind. Winston would make the Browns a ton better than Mayfield. Which is absolutely silly!
Consider yourself educated on my point of view
Oh & thanks for proving what a joke that stat is.
Well I had already agreed with you. I said I dont think Dak is great.Again, my entire point isn't that Dak isn't good. It's that he's not worth that much more than several other QBs who won't make as much as he is.
Well you did use the mic drop gif, so I suppose that's that.Well I had already agreed with you. I said I dont think Dak is great.
Also said he wont be worth whatever he gets paid (of course I think that of most QBs)
but the way of the NFL all Franchise QBs will get overpaid. This is the way of things.
My point was your metric QBR is a Bullshit stat. You then had to make it my opinion because I am a rose colored Glasses fan. Which couldnt be further from the truth. That has always been my stance on those stats.
QBR has Winston the Clown ranked 5th while having Aaron Rodgers ranked 19th.
Your ESPN version of QBR has Winston ranked 8th while the Same Aaron Rodgers who literally threw 2 INTs all year is ranked 16th. Any QB ranking system that has this is obviously flawed. (by miles)
& shouldnt ever be used as a stat to make any valid arguments. just my opinion
QBR is useful. the orginal QB rating is useful. PFF stats are useful. Total yards and TDs and 3rd down completion % and overall completion % and YPA and win loss records and TD/Int and come from behind wins and 4th Qtr stats, etc are all useful. They are also all flawed. There is no stat that says whether a player is good or bad, but there are a million stats that can be used to help draw the conclusion. The simple fact is nothing happens in a vacuum. The players around you, weather, health, coaching, defense, game situation and luck all play a big role in any stat. Stats are a great tool to help draw a conclusion, but there is usually another stat that contradicts it. Most people have particular stats that they prefer and for whatever reason think are more important than other people's stats and usually because they show what they are trying to show.Honestly, it's not just Cowboy fans calling QBR total BS. ESPN conjured up this metric to support the idiot analysts they have. I'm on record on here saying both QB rating stats are bullshit, even when they put my QB in a positive light.
