Wow, it appears Bruce has caught Choo in batting average. I don't know if this is a good thing or bad thing..... :wtf2:

Choo was overachieving, but his OBP is still real good.
Bruce is learning to hit lefties. That's the big difference there.
And you can tell when he fouls off a lot of pitches that he's keeping his head in.

If Choo hits .280 with a good OBP, a few HR and lots if runs, he will be what we expected. He is so far...hasn't been known to hit lefties though- law of averages probably catching up to him there.

Bruce may have taken another tiny step toward improvement, by looking to go oppage more- it's helped his BA and hopefully, will help reduce the depth and length of those valleys when he slumps. He'll always K a lot (as all 30+HR players seem to), but if he can reduce some K's, put the ball in play mire and draw an occasional walk (easier to do with a .230 hitter behind him), you get what we've seen- higher BA, more doubles and RBI ( dependant on runners on in front of him).

Jay is really starting to turn his season around, and it's just what we needed with the way Choo has come back down to earth a lil bit and Joey struggling off and on. Hopefully Bruce can keep tearing it up and we can get this whole team clicking just like we did last year when they won 10 games in a row.
