If Chip won the power struggle, what's the deal with the Gamble firing? I thought Gamble was Chip's "right hand man"

I dont think there was a power struggle. If it was then Howie would have been fired not promoted. I think they all realized that they had too many cheifs (Roseman, Gamble, Donhue, the Saints old GM, plus Chip and his coaching staff the scouts etc.) This was a way of streamling, taking both Howie and Gamble out of the equation and most likely one of Gamble or the old saints gm (cant remember his name) are going to go also.
