Lots of stories popping up about Kelce and Mahomes being underpaid this offseason.

The reality is that you're not making a Super Bowl with a roster full of underpaid players.

Well, if you can reallocate funds you would give to Kelce and Mahommes into 1 or 2 more talented players, then you might win the Super Bowl. I think that’s why the Patriots and Bucs were so good with Tom Brady. He didn’t ask for the most expensive salary, so the team spent it elsewhere. Conversely, that’s why the packers in the playoffs sucked with Rodgers getting paid all of that money.

IDK if Kelce is getting underpaid for a TE or if the 2 TEs who make more are simply over paid. Normally TEs just don't make a lot compared to some other positions.

I think if you switched Waller and Kelce then the graph would look about right, tbh. There isnt a world where Kelce is making as much as Tyreek Hill, though.

I don't know about allocating the funds into talented players as much as its allocating the funds into depth. The reason why franchise QBs are so valuable is because they can turn role players into stars because the franchise QB can successfully utilize a variety of role players to exploit a defense. If you gave Brady a James White, a Deion Branch, a Danny Amendola, and a top 10 defense then he'd figure out a way to make that team competitive.

What he didn't mention is how he cashed in on his looks with a reality dating show. Or how much Bud Light paid him to promote their struggling brand.

I hope it was alot because they've got some problems. :L

And the Kelce brothers podcast is the number one sports podcast in the nation (that may have changed but it was there throughout the season). They’ve probably monetized that pretty well.

Long story short, I don’t think Travis is hurting for money searching the couch for loose change to pay the pizza guy.

Agreed...

Pretty sure no one's coming to repossess his belongings right now...

Great team player there
Don’t get me wrong he would be a great guy to have on your team. And he does seem a little more self less than other teammates and peers…

On the other side of the coin, If he had a job where his peer was making 100,000. And then he was offered 60,000. And they said take it because its all about winning. I’m sure he would have a different view. The millions of dollars he gets can change someone’s perception quickly.

But, has anyone become more annoying in a shorter period of time than Kelce?

Kittle and Waller have had 2 great seasons each with far inferior QB play but staying on the field has been an issue for both at times. So those two maybe more overpaid than Kelce underpaid, imo. However, considering how much Kelce means to that offense and the great chemistry between him and Mahomes and the fact he seemingly never gets injured, one could say he should be the top paid TE in the game. The question then becomes what is the going rate for that top spot. Is it $17mil per? More? Less? The thing with TEs is only a very few are really game changers like him so teams have to be cautious about overpaying a guy at that position. Also, what's the shelf life at the position? He isn't starving anyway but it's interesting to consider what we define as being underpaid these days in pro sports. The dude has a good life anyway. Get's to make good money doing something he loves and playing with a great QB. Has championship rings and could get some more and will have a gold jacket when all is said and done. Nice gig.

LOL. He's so underpaid at #3 in the league for TEs. The outlier is that Waller is overpaid at #1.
Waller is very good but I think you are 100% correct
