At this point, Cubs would have to eat a shitload of that contract and I don't see them wanting to pay that shitload to see if he can turn it around for another team.

Honestly, I don't think they're overly concerned. They have so many young guys producing for relative peanuts that they have the luxury of playing wait and see. Further, he's basically unmovable right now.
