Verlander never had eight strikeouts in first three innings of the World Series, no pitcher except for Klubot.

Might need to do that 2 more times.

The matchups the Cubs have vs. Indians SPs who aren't robots are not pretty.

I'm pretty nervous about Bauer's start tonight. Hopefully his finger's healed up and he can put that behind him and put up some zeros, but I'm not overly confident.

On the flip side, I was just looking at Arrieta's postseason resume. He was nasty in the Wild Card game against Pittsburgh last year pitching a complete game shutout. Since then he's had some struggles, averaging 5.4 IP/GS with a 5.82 ERA.

I'm assuming that, if needed, Miller and Allen would be available for up to four innings, so Bauer and the rest of the bullpen just need to keep the offense in it for five.

Arrieta is a poster boy for PEDs. His whole career he has been shitty to mediocre and then all of the sudden he blows up past his prime.

He has been pretty mediocre for much of the 2nd half this year. Chances are he got wind of tests and dropped his cycles.

You talk about PED usage as if you're not a fan of a team that Yadier Molina plays for.

Who cares? They're probably all on PEDs.

Funny stuff, dougy.

On planet Earth, we all know that Verlander is a whiney twat who withers under the bright lights. In three World Series starts, he's 0-3 with a 7.20 ERA.

No heart. None. At all.
Ease up on Doug. There's a very good chance that by this time next week the Tigers will own the longest WS drought in the AL Central. That has to be very tough on someone with such heart.

I'm just stating my opinion. Keep your strawman arguments to yourself.

I'm just stating my opinion that I found your opinion ironic given the fact that Yadi's career arc is basically a mirror image of Arrieta's.

I'm sorry, Danny. There's no chance of that at all.

Just read the following and swap out Arrietta's name for Molina's.
Not that I ever said Molina hasn't used PEDs which is exactly what makes your bullshit strawman but Yadier has a steady progression of improvement. Not a jump from worst to first.

Now prove your claim or shut the fuck up.

You want a runner to risk going to third down by 6 in the ninth, and you're calling him dumb? Lmao

No, "dunce..."

the ball was misplayed off the wall, he would have had plenty of time to get to third if he had busted it out of the box instead of flipping his bat and strolling nonchalantly to first while admiring the flight of the ball.

Ultimately it didn't matter as no one else could drive him in.

I'm putting money on your boys tonight.

If I'm CLE this is probably the game I'd like to use Salazar.

You can throw him multiple innings without having to worry about the idiotic idea of him trying to hit, and perhaps save some of Miller's bullets after throwing over 40 pitches last night.

Miller has to have maybe 4 outs in him. I would guess Allen has 4-5 as well.

Maybe it's 4 or 5 from Bauer, 2-3 from Salazar and then 4 outs miller, 5 outs allen.

Steady progression. That's funny shit.

First 2,979 PA's he carried a .268/.327/.361/.688 slash line with an 82 OPS+.

Then, at age 28 -- coincidentally the same age Arrieta blew up -- he puts up .313/.361/.481/.842/ with a 130 OPS+ in the following three years.

His OPS+ in the four years preceding his break out were 85, 96, 100, 84. That's not steady progression. That's a mediocre hitter that had a couple average seasons.

Add the roid rage episodes like when he spit on an umpire and it's pretty clear to anyone that isn't a Cardinals fanboy that he was juiced to the gills.

Now, smile like a donut, fanboy.

Blow up? That OPS+ is only 13 points higher than the year prior. He was inured the year before his 124 OPS+ and the year before that he had a 100 OPS+.

When I get to work I'll graph their progression. You pick the stats so I don't have to hear you whine about the ones I chose.

I'm so fucking nervous about Salazar. Really would rather not see him without a comfortable lead, and with the Cubs offense, I'm not sure what a comfortable lead is.
