Gardiner stays.Oh alright. I would throw in Gardiner and Bozak also. You're welcome.
Gardiner stays.
That thing is going to kill somebody someday. After all, the guy already has an expressway named after him.
That thing is going to kill somebody someday.
The expressway, not the hockey player. The hockey player is a sweetie.
Yeah, but a hell of a lot of people go ON it. So when it collapses, they're going to be in trouble.Only the homeless dudes that sleep under it. No one else would be silly enough to go under it, would they?
A lot of people seem to think that BOS should get nothing since they fired Chiarelli in the first place.
I am guessing his BOS contract agrees to pay him $x million for a certain period of time. If so, then BOS is within their legal rights to prevent him from working somewhere else. At least until the time period identifed in the contract expires.
I am sure this could be cleared up rather quickly if EDM gave up their 2015 first rounder. That should appease BOS.
...Lake Shore Blvd. runs under it, and Queens Quay has undergone redevelopment the past few years so it's been closed. Underneath it is just as vital as above it.Only the homeless dudes that sleep under it. No one else would be silly enough to go under it, would they?
Before we moved offices, I had to take it to and from work. Going home, the traffic starts in the east just past Jarvis and while sitting on it barely moving, it's scary as shit feeling that roadway bounce as trucks drive by in the opposite direction.Yeah, but a hell of a lot of people go ON it. Yeah, I find myself up there for work several weeks per year. Let's just say I'm looking forward to them opening the UP Express so I can avoid the Gardiner on a Friday afternoon. Before we moved offices, I had to take it to and from work. It's going to collapse, and it's going to be so much worse than when the West Side Highway collapsed in NYC. So. Much. Worse.
June 6. They're charging a fortune for it, though - $27.50 one way if you don't have Presto.Yeah, I find myself up there for work several weeks per year. Let's just say I'm looking forward to them opening the UP Express so I can avoid the Gardiner on a Friday afternoon.
As an out-of-towner though, taxi is my normal method to/from the airport, which runs I think $55 fixed from the city to the airport, so I'm sure that rate was selected specifically because it's the same price for two people then (cheaper if you count tip). And if I can guarantee an arrival time at the airport vs. who knows how long in a taxi, that's a big plus.June 6. They're charging a fortune for it, though - $27.50 one way if you don't have Presto.
Or just use the island airport - Porter flies to Charlotte now and getting to/from is easy as hell, especially with the Waterfront LRT open again. Security at the island is a breeze, too.
Ah, didnt know there was a connection. Damn turbo props. As an out-of-towner though, taxi is my normal method to/from the airport, which runs I think $55 fixed from the city to the airport, so I'm sure that rate was selected specifically because it's the same price for two people then (cheaper if you count tip). And Porter is actually just partnering with JetBlue to get to Charlotte. I'd have to fly Porter to Boston and then JB to Charlotte. Or I could just go non-stop from YYZ with US/American. Which I hate them. But still, it's non-stop.
I think the price point is probably pretty well set, but we'll see. I think they're figuring that the majority of ridership will be business travelers, regardless of which direction they're heading. And obviously they've got huge construction costs to overcome.Ah, didnt know there was a connection. Damn turbo props.
Yeah, the price isn't too outrageous, but I think it's going to have to come down at some point to attract better ridership. Pearson's not a half bad airport, anyway. Having NEXUS helps.
Just annoying neighbours. I live right next to one of the stops; it's already a well-traveled regional rail line so it's not like the UPX is adding much noise, and there's already funding and plans to electrify the line so it's happening regardless. They just need another few years for that and they want the UPX running ASAP.I think the price point is probably pretty well set, but we'll see. Haven't heard recently either, but I guess there was a potential for a lawsuit to force them to convert it to electric at another huge cost.

I bet he doesn't last past Thanksgiving...
