Cowherd just RIPPING on Dandy Dalton. I used to hate Cowherd, but he's really pretty good. He refused to have Dandy on his show. Haha

Dalton blows. 9 for 20 for 69 yards in a damn scrimmage?

Ugg..I think he is getting worse and worse every season. I would take that guy from his second season, but this current Andy Dalton looks like he has just fucking given up.

Time to quit football, and do Yoga and Palates with his wife full time. Get some Zen in his life.

Well, buckle up boys, we are in for a bumpy ride in 2015. Not that we expected anything less, but to be this animated in the subject gives me pause for concern. Lewis is banking his coaching career on Dalton from here on out.

Marvin Lewis on Andy Dalton: We don?t have time to waste on QB competition | ProFootballTalk

During an interview at the Senior Bowl practices on Wednesday, Lewis made it clear that he’s not into discussions of different quarterbacks. He said there are about “25 teams that would take [Dalton] in a heartbeat” and that the team won’t bring in competition for Dalton because quarterback competitions don’t make teams better.

“There’s no time for that,” Lewis said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer. “We have no problem with Andy Dalton as our quarterback. We don’t have time to waste time with another quarterback. The quarterback competition: Where has it worked? It doesn’t get you wins. … Fortunately, somehow I’ve got the right little thing on my shoulder that says, ‘Don’t get into a quarterback controversy.'”

This is exactly why I'm not getting all bent out of shape over Dalton. He's going nowhere, nor is AJ going to 'push' him, nor are they going to bring in a veteran to 'push' him...it's Dalton or bust. Not point in getting mad every week over it, and beating that horse deader than a door-nail. Just accept it and move on. Or don't accept it and move on. Either way...it's time to move on.

There's no time for Marvin to do it, because he knows he's gone in a year We've got one more long year of Marvin and Andy, and then the team gets blown up

Completely agree with the poster above me. The Dalton project will be derailed by 2016. Unless the Bengals make some big noise in free agency, another year without a playoff win is upon us. Simply cannot be a top team without a great quarterback

Yet, you repeat this same drivel over and over. This is a message board that gives us the opportunity to complain all we want. If you're tired of hearing it, then quit reading it. If you're resigned to simply repeating the fact that we have no control over anything, then there's no reason to post on this board at all.

This may sound bad, but all that is left for me is to root for a career ending injury. That's the only way we are getting rid of this clown, since our coach and owner both appear blind to the level of his suckage.

we'll see if McCarron is a good "practice player" or not.

For some reason, whenever Dalton throws an inaccurate pass it's someone elses fault.

pretty soon McCarron's progress may be the new excuse for Dalton not doing well.

I don't think we're stuck with Dalton as long as you guys think we are..... I think there is a good chance that we fall flat this coming season, or at the very least fail to advance past the first round of the playoffs.

Anything short of a playoff win will create a lot of pressure and Marvin is coaching in a lame duck season. Mike Brown is a loyal dude, but he might choose to move on at that point. If he does, I think a new coach would want to draft his own quarterback and Dalton would be gone.

Alternatively, I can see Mike Brown sticking with Marvin and I can see Marvin throwing Dalton under the bus as he 'rebuilds' the team. In this scenario, we'd probably do away with our older tackles, move on from some of the defensive vets, and Marvin would carry a shovel around talking about building the team around his young foundation.

The only way I see a problem is if we get another playoff spot and then win a game. If that happens, Marvin is re-signing a three year deal and Andy will be nominated qb for life.

Dalton will be cheap, though. Mike Brown loves cheap. Especially when he can trout out the playoff caliber QB at a 'steal'.

If we're lucky, after this year, they'll at least draft a guy. Assuming Marvin is gone, and the Bengals implode this year. We probably won't be that lucky. Somehow they'll win another 9-11 games, make the playoffs, and once again offer up a nice turd sandwich.

But hey...we'll have a cheap playoff caliber QB for years to come.

It's tough to imagine keeping the current regime (Marvin and Dalton) after next season without a playoff victory. 5 straight first round exits in the playoffs is almost unheard of. Even for Mike Brown, who may be starting to run out of patience with this bunch. I hope (and by hope I'm talking about a bong ripping pipe dream) that missing the playoffs altogether would be enough to force a change. At the very least with the QB position.

But then again, this is Mike Brown and these are the Bengals. Might as well start drinking now.
