I think loud stadiums are the greatest and these crowd noise stats are kinda cool IMO. KC has ALWAYS had loud crowds at Arrowhead ... congrats to the KC fans.

Piped in sound though???? I've heard some stadiums do that, but I dunno bout KC or Seattle. I would hope not. :noidea:

Well, it's against the NFL rules for one. I think the loud speakers have to stop boradcasting by the time the play clock hits 15 or 10 seconds.

Doesn't matter though. The speakers aren't typically loud enough to reach 135-140dB

Yes, you made a lot of noise but forgot to trigger an earthquake. (sarcasm)

The whole thing is a gimmick for GBWR. And I said this originally when Seattle "broke" the record.

Like others have said above, both fanbases are highly passionate and know when to be loud. Hopefully the Seattle group leaves it alone and doesn't bring them back again.

Seattle's gonna get all butthurt about this and they're going to call the Guiness people to come when they play the 49ers. I'll make that bet with anyone.

All Seattle fans here are only congratulating KC and their fans. The only one acting like a little butthurt bitch is you.

Seattle has been the most electric stadium I've visited (so far I've been to 7).

I don't think I've used my actual seat at the CLink for more than 10 minutes (aside from halftime) in total in the dozen or so games I've been to there. The fans are on their feet all game and they yell on all 4 downs. It's amazing to witness.

...says the Seahawks fan.

I'm pretty sure I'm objective enough on this subject.

I've been to, Seattle (~10 times; both CLink and Kingdome), Lambeau (x2), Soldier Field (x4), Arizona (x4), St. Louis (x1), Indianapolis (x1), New York (x1, but it was a big one, SB XLVIII baby!).

This year I'll be heading to St. Louis and Kansas City (debating San Fran).

I've not been to 1 other stadium where the fans cheer on every down. I'm hoping KC breaks that trend.

Not as butthurt as the Niners will be when they leave there

But their QB is the man, he's the man, he's the man. The Seattle fans can't phase him, I saw the commercial :pound:

You mean just in the NFL, right? College I think that is pretty common :yahoo:

First off, to the O.P., colder denser air will allow for LOUDER sound to travel. No reason to stage these type of events in the warmer Summer/early Fall. Now that we have ended that science lesson, my two cents....

1.) Congrats to the K.C. fans. You earned it!

2.) I hope we end this idiotic stadium noise crap once and for all. it is getting beyond stupid to do these stunts. The next stadium will need to promote a 1/2 price and chili and burritos beforehand to help with increasing the crowd noise.

Hey, are you saying poor Hispanic (burritos) people are louder than others? JK, I know you are talking about volume of people.

Been to Arrowhead many times (best friend has season tickets) and can say they are a legit crowd. Even when they sucked for quite a few years here they still had amazing crowds. I have a lot of respect for Chief fans (probably more than most Bronco fans). Congrats on the record and more importantly on the big win. AFC West is looking mighty dangerous right now with once again 3 legit playoff teams.

No question the fans are great. I just think the "noise competition" is kind of lame.

:agree: Really. A better 'who's number one would be the tailgaters food....and KC always win's that one :suds:

How true it is...So essentially for fan experience Kansas City is the place to go. Heck went there with a group of Bronco fans one time and set up our own tailgate place and ended up even having some Chiefs fans offering us some of their food and gave us some utensils as the person in charge of them forgot them. They are a class act group of fans most of the time. Run into a few idiots but that is true of any fan base.

Congrats Chiefs fans, but this thread is way too long for this topic.

Having a loud crowd is cool. Recording the decibel output of your crowd so you can brag about how loud your stadium gets is ghey. The whole point of a loud stadium is to give your team a home field advantage, but with these phegs it's become a junk measuring contest.
