It's the only one that your feeble franchise has ever won.

Enjoy it.

Damn dude, the Hawks are in your head. Are you starting to get a little worried about Oct 12th?

There's been a few others between then and now and it happens to pretty much any team, but the lack of discipline and execution by the Pats is disturbing at best..
I meant, this year in general BTW.

Don't listen to Seahawk fans now saying "Who cares? We won a Super Bowl." They were quiet proud of how loud they could yell prior to winning it.

Good time to be a KC fan. Royals tonight, Chiefs stomping Brady & Co.

So what you're saying is maybe they should have just taped the opposing team's signals. Then maybe they'd have more championships.

Noise is always secondary to the product on the field. Why is Seattle so damn dominant at home? No, it is not really the crowd, save me the false starts argument, it's because the team is really good. Also, there's like social facilitation and stuff that is inherent to playing at home in sports- noise not included (or is it sold separately?).

I mean, my goodness, KC lost four straight times at home coming into this game.
I do actually agree with most of what you're saying here. Noise usually is secondary to the team itself, and, as a Seahawks fan who attends a few games a year and takes pride in the noise we make, I'd say that is the case currently.

However, your dismissal of the false start argument is wrong IMO. The current wave of Seattle fan pride about being loud and affecting games didn't start with Pete Carrol and this relatively new group of players who have become dominant and captured the spotlight. In 2005 the NY Giants came into Seattle and committed 11 false starts in that game.... ELEVEN. Obviously each one generating more excitement from the crowd than the last once they knew they were affecting the game. And not only the ridiculous false start penalties, but Jay Feely missed 3 potential game winning FGs, one at the end of regulation and 2 in OT.

The 60,000+ people in the stands of that game clearly had a direct affect on the game itself and once that effect becomes known by both the opposing team and the people causing it, the ball is rolling downhill. Good luck stopping that momentum.

The Seahawks are in nobody's head yet people like you trot out the excuse that Seattle can't be as good as last year because we'll get everyone's best game with the target on our backs. If we're getting their best game, we're clearly in their heads.

Also, read my above post about Seattle getting in the heads of the opponents. I guess 11 false starts and 3 missed game winning FGs in just coincidence, huh?

Hey, I agree. I've been to the last 2 games in which we set the Seattle record and yeah, I was proud of that.

I'll tell you though, I really don't care about that noise record after winning the Super Bowl. It's just something to throw around as chest thumping bragging rights, and yeah, that's all we had before February.

We know we're loud. A few decibels doesn't change that fact. It also doesn't take away the shiny new trophy we have.

I agree that the noise record isn't that big of a deal. It's cool to be able to say you've got the loudest fans when you have the record though.

They'll try to win it back again at some point. Why wouldn't they? If they can get it then great, if not, no big deal either. It will be really tough for Seattle to get it back though. KC beat it by a pretty good amount this time. It may not happen until Seattle adds those 6500 seats in the endzone they were talking about.

College stadiums are way louder for a few reasons
1)younger, better fans. They haven't been priced out(yet) so you get some real fans, not some corporate show offs that go to be seen.
2)fans are far more loyal, since colleges usually represent a state. The NFL has become very band wagonish, where as college aliance doesn't change.

There are just as many bandwagon fans in college. You just don't see it with the bigger programs because in general the big programs that draw 100,000 fans to their home games make the post season and win 10+ games every single year. It's easy to be a college fan when you win every year. Just imagine what would happen if Alabama lost more than 4 games in a season. It would probably be similar to what's happening currently at Michigan with students marching on the President's house trying to get him fired. This is after a 2-3 start mind you. The students claiming that the football program being below .500 hurts them as fans is pathetic and just makes them look like entitled D-bags.

I'm looking forward to going to Arrowhead to see this insanity first hand. I'm curious how it compares to the the CLink.

I guess it's a matter of taste but I've seen the Cowboys play at both places and didn't care for it.

If you like watching a game at CLF then you'll probably enjoy Arrowhead.

I enjoy the crowd, provided it all stays civil.

I just bought the tickets yesterday, upper deck, center of the endzone, first row. Only $125 each...those tickets are going for over $250 in Seattle this year (even more for big games).

Fans were civil in both places. There was plenty of trash talking going on but absolutely nothing that crossed any lines. I just didn't like the nonstop yelling for the sake of nonstop yelling. Half the time nothing was even going on.

That's the thing, they're not bandwagon. They go march on the president's lawn demanding a change. An NFL fan would've just become a seahawk or bronco fan.
