Except the ball wasnt lying flat. The nose was touching the ground.
I couldn't PROVE that the ball was touching the line. All we could prove was part of the ball was over the imaginary vertical plane of green and white.

If it was obvious they would have gotten the call on the field.

Close is a more honest response.

You're a ND fan, I get it. But you're not correct

I believe if the nose of the ball is out of bounds (nose doesn't have to be touching the ground) and a player touches it, it becomes a DEAD ball. Which would stop the play

Meh. Sometimes the calls are blown on the field, like that "TD" scUM scored near the end of the game against Floriduh, except the guy didn't catch the ball, and it wasn't close.

Did Clemson just not play many good defenses this year ? 45 total yards through a quarter. A fumble led to their only points.

Yes it was. Are you blind??
Many saw the same thing as I did. Again, the ball isn’t flat. It’s not conclusive the ball was touching white paint. Nothing about that video evidence should overturn the call on the field. Had it been called OB I’d say it was OB.

You'll just have to live with it, I guess

It does not have to touch the ground. If the nose of the ball is over the line & is touched, it becomes a dead ball.

Yes it was touching the ground, my God! Oh, and I have 20/15 vision from PRK surgery from yrs ago
Disagree. The football was flat on the ground so only the bottom was touching the ground. Go grab a football right now and lay it flat, the tip will be in the air. Same exact scenario here. Plus the most obvious part of this argument is that we both have different opinions (which is fine) but also tells me that it wasn't conclusive enough to overturn. You shouldn't overturn the call on the field unless you are 100% absolutely positive it's correct. It wasn't conclusive from any camera view we had. Maybe they had more views? Possibly.

But to each their own. I watched it 5+ times and never saw the tip touching the white once.

Edit: but if Bamagrad is correct and all that's needed is the tip over the out of bounds line, then it was clearly out of bounds. No bias here, calling it as I see it!

Turns out the ball doesn’t need to be flat for the tip to touch the ground.

Look 2 posts above yours, at the still shot, and tell me that ball is laying "flat on the ground", Mr. 20/20

Best defense they played was A&M. The only top 50 defense they played until today

It’s not a reward. Why should the other team automatically be given posession if they didn’t control the ball before it went out of bounds?

Because that was a clear fumble. Out of bounds should mean Shit.

AGAIN, it does NOT have to lie flat on the ground, the nose is over the sideline.
