It looked in bounds to me.

I know the tip of the football was leaning over the line and in the white but it didn't look like the tip was actually touching the white line. It looked like the tip was in the air and any part of the football touching the ground was in bounds.

But that's just me...

BS. Nose of the ball wasn’t touching the ground. You could argue the nose of the ball broke the plane of the sideline but ball wasn’t indisputablely touching the sideline. Terrible overturn.

The tip of the ball lying flat would be above the ground. No part of the actual ball was on the white. Atleast you couldn't prove it to overturn the call!

Except the ball wasnt lying flat. The nose was touching the ground.

It’s not a reward. Why should the other team automatically be given posession if they didn’t control the ball before it went out of bounds?

They're not rewarded, but in order for a change of possession to occur after a fumble, the defending team must recover the ball in bounds, or before the ball touches out of bounds.
