CFP: Number of 3 Loss Teams?

Watching ESPN the past few days it appears they've entered their " Let us explain to you what a team with 3 losses including 2 to 5+ loss teams deserves a spot on the playoff" portion of the programming

I think the odds of the Big 12 missing the playoffs altogether are almost the same as a 3-loss playoff team.

No, it is technically the five highest rated conference champions.
The committee just assumed that it would always be POWER FOUR plus one. It was never stated that way, just implied.

Boise State will almost certainly be ranked ahead of Arizona State if they win out.
The question is whether Tulane could possibly jump Arizona State. They are currently 1 spot behind them.

If Arizona State were to lose the rivalry road game to Arizona, it is entirely possible that the Big 12 champ finishes below Tulane.
It is unlikely, but the mere fact that it is at least plausible.....is very embarassing for the Big 12.

I don't want to see any 3-loss teams in the playoffs, but if it happens, it could be a Big 12 team since you never know when one of those teams is gonna fall apart.

It should arguably be a rule that no 3 loss teams should be in. Definitely 4 loss teams. It's amazing how many want to disregard losses.

I hope blowouts happen to those that get put in.

The Acc refs missed a bad PI call against the North Ave. Trade School team in the 3rd OT

It was a clear targeting on the Georgia tech fumble late in the 4th lol would have ended the game

They also missed a pretty clear holding on Georgia late in the 4th after missing the targeting call. They did not try to hide the fix. I respect the hard work they put in to make sure Georgia won

That was a clean football hit not targeting. Come on man, big boy ball. If anything there was a big phantom DPI call on Georgia where the ref threw the flag a second after the whistle that gave GT a shot from the 1

ACC refs are just a touch better than B1G refs, and they are known to be the worst. The first half they were definitely in GT pocket with missed calls on GT, and phantom calls in Ga. Second half was better, but OT they reverted back to doing all they could to help GT

No more time outs in OT.. please! You'd think an 8 OT game would be edge of the seat exciting, but it was the opposite. It was just tedious. It was worse than the last minute of a close basketball game that takes a half hour. As someone who didn't have a dog in the fight, it was all I could do to not change the station. But I really wanted to see the GA head coach cry.. oh well.

GT coach loss the game with 5:30 to go. Total prevent defense rushing 3 against a quality QB. They might as well as let Geogia just walk down the field. Did it again then Georgia got the ball at the 30. After a first down GT went back to rushing 4, too late.
When GT had the ball with less than a minute Georgia rushed 5 and 6 at times.
Forcing a college QB to go quickly (regardless of their overall ability) is better than letting them survey the field.

As far as the overtime, I predicted at the snap 5 of the 6 GT plays, I suspect the Georgia coach did also.

In retrospect, I felt at the time and obviously now, that GT should have gone for 2 and the win at the end of the 1st overtime.
