Crazy thing is there is basically no way to get out of this contract until basically 2024. If they don't want to keep starting them next year or in the future there will be just a guy making $30M sitting the bench like he is injured.

Dead cap
2021 - $59M
2022 - $24M
2023 - $15M
2024 - only $6M

That’s rough for a team that is already super over the cap

Yeah, I think I might have mentioned this in another thread but if the new coaching staff comes in and they can't turn things around with him, I can see Philly eating that $24M in 2022. No way do they keep him untill 2024, imo.

Hard to eat $24 when they always have a super high cap number though. 2023 definitely the realistic year though

What is the record for eating a contract? 24 million got to be close I would think.

So who loses their job this offseason, the greatest gm in history, Howie Mandel Roseman or the greatest coach in NFL history, Douggie P?
if they were smart, all three possibly. So probably none of them lose their jobs. (if we are lucky) :becky:

they split the 24 mil between two years. It happens with the crazy QB contracts nowadays. I dont see them eating the 59 mil though.
So it will have to be 2022 or 2023. At this pace no way he makes it to 2024. maybe the eagles can trade him earlier to the Bengals. They like Gingers.

It cost the Cowboys 29 mil for Romo I think. (to lazy to go back & look) but our starter was at least on a rookie deal. But it made it super tight to make moves while eating that cap space.

Yeah, probably more likely for sure and who knows, maybe it turns around at some point with a new coaching staff and they don't have to make that decision. I doubt it though. Wentz's psyche looks shattered right now and the ghost of Nick Foles winning the big prize haunts him.

Do you think on Sunny Days, Wentz goes out & stands in the Shadow of Foles Statue?

Truth.

Here is a quick recap.

Almost everything posted here recently, falls right in line with what any non-Philthy fan had been predicted.

One and done.
Dougie P and the Feabled got lucky.
Cap would bite them in the ass.
Coaches/FO personell will get fired.
Wince was not the right choice.
Philly and their fans would become non relevant, AGAIN.
50 more years of depression in Philly.
Philly is still one of the countries shittiest towns.
Philly bandwagoneers would start jumping off the sinking ship.

Did I miss anything?

Oh yeah Philly sucks.

Nick Wright said something the other day and I absolutely agree with him. Foles had his one hit wonder year/MVP-type of season and some just assum Wentz has more talent...Wentz could very well be another one hit wonder. He had that one MVP type of season and I don't think anyone would be surprised if he now just starts to fizzle out and out of the league or bench warmer in the next 3-4 years.

....and sacks..... and fumbles
It’s the pieces around him.

Let’s not forget that these greats hve TONS of firepower:

Stafford:outside of golladay....swift is coming on

Dolphins: umm well parker? 3-4- string running backs?

Ravens: well umm well who umm marquis’s brown? Willie Snead?

Colts:Hilton?lol the rookie Pittman maybe?

Jags? : chark? That udfa running back?

Giants: sterling shepharr? Engram?

WFT:-mclaurin... jd mckissic, Antonio gibson

Packers- Adams....a 5th round rb in jones

Let’s not pretend teams are oozing talent. Not that Danny dimes is killing it...but he’s not leading three horrible categories. Good qbs make those around them better.
