I feel sorry for him. It's going to be a long offseason and he'll always be labeled a postseason choker, which sucks because he's a genuinely good person.

I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt and blame it on his injured thumb

I think it was his index finger that was injured and taped up. At least that's what he pointed when Keuchly intercepted his last throw.

Not talking smack but I think Arizona should seriously be looking for his predecessor. Not for next season but later on. He's running out of time.

Edit: successor

They should take Hackenberg in like the third round and have him sit behind Palmer.

predecessor??? I think that's already been determined. His successor, now that might be a good idea.

He got his face rubbed in the dirt in a historical way and he's going to be 37 next year. He's done. Dumb contract.

I love this kind of ignorance. Dumb contract... :L

Maybe the cards should have signed one of the other available QB's. There's such a long list. 10 wins, 11 wins and 13 wins and a NFC Championship game appearance. What a stupid move signing him.

Bring on the Trolls. Have some fun guys.

It is his index finger that has the injury.

Do Cardinal fans really trust him anymore? This is an embarrassment.

I do wonder how much his finger impacted his performance, but one thing was for sure today...it was a lot more than that. It wasn't like Green Bay where he had 3-4 errant throws we weren't used to seeing...he was just flat-out horrifying constantly.

The contract is for two more years. Assuming he stays healthy, that's probably just about right to see how far they can go with him.

This game aside, their record when Palmer plays is absolutely ridiculous. Once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen and if he can get them there, I'm good with that. The #1 team beat the #2 team. The disturbing part is I think it would have been closer with Drew Stanton in.

Successor.

Absolutely. Bortles and Carr should be available unless extended when Palmer's contract is up. They are going to have a rougher time finding that guy in the draft. The Logan Thomas selection doesn't inspire confidence.

I love how people over react to one game. He had a bad game, but a great year. Yes his age is advancing but I highly suspect he will have another very solid year next year.

I think the takeaway after all of this is, that Carolina was pretty clearly head and shoulders above all the other NFL teams this season. Their regular and postseasons to the point have proven that.

You guys are crazy. He played like an MVP until he hurt his finger in that Philly game. They lost Honey Badger that game as well, and yes we destroyed GB the next week but it was downhill after that.

When Palmer is 100 percent he is about as good of a QB as you'll find. I think he absolutely has another 2 solid years left in the tank. *assuming he doesn't have another major injury*

I don't know. How do you have confidence going forward after a loss like this?

I am concerned.

Some of the passes he threw were just head scratchers... The INT before the half was just inexcusable... Even a field goal there could a helped swing the momentum a bit...

It almost looked like he threw the game away. Obviously I don't think he actually did but man he played bad. Our O-Line and mental mistakes (PP fumble, Fitz drops, etc.) didn't help.

We had our season peak at week 16, and since then it's been shaky. Worst time to get cold but that's how it goes.
