My mind spits with an enormous kickback.
The other three were Kurt Warner (Rams and Cardinals), Fran Tarkenton (Giants and Vikings) and Peyton Manning (Colts and Broncos).
nice company...
nice company...
Warner just squeaked in there. 102 with St Louis and 100 with ArizonaThe other three were Kurt Warner (Rams and Cardinals), Fran Tarkenton (Giants and Vikings) and Peyton Manning (Colts and Broncos).
nice company...
yup. i looked. a few are close.Y.A. Tittle just missed. 108 with San Fran and 96 with New York.
i still think someday vinny gets in the hall, along with bledsoe.Vinny Testaverde and Kerry Collins are the only 2 QBs to have 200+ career TD passes and not have 100 for any team.
My case against Testaverde.my case for vinny:
12th all time in yards (46,233)
15th in TD passes (275)
4th all time in passes intercepted (not a good stat, but of the top 5 in this category, 3 are in (favre, blanda, tarkenton)
10th all time in pass attempts
13th in completions
10th all time in 4th quarter comebacks (tied with big ben, and 11 fewer than brady)
on shit teams. you forgot that part. shit teams. he started 72 games in tampa and won 24. he was on 2 winning teams...two...both jets fluke years. My case against Testaverde.
He put up a long career of being a below average QB.
Top 5 in yards once
Top 5 in TDs twice
Top 5 in passer rating twice
Top 5 in interceptions 8 times
In his 14 seasons where he met the minimum pass attempts qualifications for rate stats, he ranked the following in passer rating:
1988: 28th out 28 qualifiers
1989: 23/27
1990: 18/28
1991: 31/32
1992: 17/25
1993: 6/30
1994: 22/29
1995: 10/30
1996: 5/32
1997: 19/32
1998: 2/31
2000: 28/34
2001: 21/30
2004: 26/33
Just 4 seasons in the top half of the league.
I didn't forget that part. I just don't think that put him over the edge. He was actually on 4 winning teams though.on shit teams. you forgot that part. shit teams. he started 72 games in tampa and won 24. he was on 2 winning teams...two...both jets fluke years.
think about that...
probably had the least amount of talent around him for a career.
But I'm not saying to keep him out because of his record. He compiled those numbers because he played a long time but was mostly mediocre.Testaverde's professional career was principally characterized by its longevity, lasting a remarkable 21 seasons, playing with seven different teams. However, despite being in the top 10 upon retirement in most career passing statistics (6th in career passing yardage, 7th in career touchdown passes, 6th in career completions), Testaverde was not a notably successful quarterback in terms of wins and losses, and remains the highest ranked player in each of those categories not to be elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His 123 losses as a starting quarterback is an NFL record, and his career regular season winning percentage of .423 is the lowest of any quarterback with at least 70 wins. Testaverde's 90 wins are the most for any quarterback with more losses than wins. He played in five postseason games in his NFL career with a record of 2–3.
shit
teams
yup...forgot the other 2. so 4 winning teams.I didn't forget that part. I just don't think that put him over the edge. He was actually on 4 winning teams though.

longevity gets you in the HOF in baseball...hit a magic number...300 wins, 3000 hits...But I'm not saying to keep him out because of his record. He compiled those numbers because he played a long time but was mostly mediocre.
add to the madness:
NFL records
Buccaneers franchise records
- Most consecutive seasons with at least one touchdown pass - 21 (Longevity)
- Oldest player to win an NFL game (Age 44 in 2007) (Longevity)
- Most losses as a starting quarterback (123) (Longevity)
- Most players throwing a touchdown pass to (70) (Longevity)
- Most players completing a pass to (150+) (Longevity)
Ravens franchise records
- Most career passing yards (14,820) (Longevity and a shitty franchise)
- Most career passing attempts (2,160) (Longevity and a shitty franchise)
- Most times sacked (197) (Longevity and a shitty franchise)
New York Jets franchise records
- Most passing touchdowns in a single season- 33 (1996) (One season and a 20-year old franchise)
- Most 4th quarter comeback wins in single season - 5 (2001) (One season)
- Most game winning drives in a single season - 5 (2001) (One season)
Sometimes longevity does that, I don't think it should. I think you should have to be a top player at your position for an extended period of time. Testaverde was not that.longevity gets you in the HOF in baseball...hit a magic number...300 wins, 3000 hits...
the guy retired in the top 10 in most passing stats
