Either you chose to get rid of them or had to sell them for some reason or another.

Me...

69' Chevelle SS - Owned from 1979 - 1982. Had to sell it because I went into the military and had no place to store it.

73' Mustang Convertible - Owned from 1986 - 1990. Had to sell it because I was separating from the military and had to tow my primary A to B vehicle behind the U-haul. (That it was somewhat of a Florida rust bucket made letting it go a bit easier)

89' Cougar XR7 Supercharged - Owned from 1994 - 2002. Sold it because it was in need of some TLC and the pizza delivery guy made me an offer I couldn't refuse at the time. Not that they are valuable or anything ($3000) but I wish I would have held onto it to restore with my son as his first car.

None really. At 30, I'm just now getting to where I can afford things I actually want and not just settling for something. Although, I did have a pretty nice Dodge Stratus when I was 18 that I totaled the shit out of I wouldn't mind having back. Nothing special though.

My Nissan pickup. I've had a Toyota, Chevy and now a Ford and wish I could have the Nissan back. I can't remember what happened to it. I think maybe I wanted a van and sold it.
I had a souped-up VW bug that I liked, but I wouldn't really want it now.

Yeah, the younger guys here probably haven't owned very many cars.

I've owned probably a dozen different ones through the years..

Had a pumpkin orange 1975 BMW 2002 when I was stationed in Germany. Sold it to a buddy for $900 the day before I left because of the PITA to get it past US inspections.

Don't really miss it though..

If I remember right I would have needed to install a shatterproof windshield and frames in the doors. I think emissions were ok..

Whoa

You just reminded me I owned an 82 Camaro Berlinetta for a couple years in mid 80's. That would have been a good one to restore for my daughter..

The 1987 560SEL mercedes I had once was the nicest driving car I've ever owned. IMO, this was the pinnacle time for MB and they've been comparably crap ever since. Heavy, low, quiet and every little part was super highly engineered to last.

I've owned (in order to the best of my memory):

90' Chevy Baretta GT- Sold
96' Nissan Sentra - Traded In
02' Chevy Cavalier- Got fucked over by Bill Heard Chevy (shut down shortly after)
89' Nissan Maxima- Gave to my brother
92' Honda Accord- Traded In
99' Ford Escort- Lost in a divorce
96' Dodge Stratus- Wrecked to death
96' Grand Am SE 2 door- Traded In
99' Pontiac Sunfire- Traded In
00' Hyundai Sonata- Traded In
04' Pontiac Sunfire- Wife took over and is still driving (sold her Liberty)
06' Hyundai Sonata GLS- Driving now

Whew, I think that's it. As you can see, I get tired of a car after a year or two and trade it in on something else. That's too many to have only been driving 14 yrs. Hopefully that'll change now that I can get shit worth keeping.

When I was in Berlin my folks were in Heidelberg. My dads Mercedes was so quiet that if you closed your eyes doing 120 on the autobahn you couldn't tell you were in a car.

I bet that thing would float for hours if ditched in a lake with the windows up.

He actually spent the money to bring it back through inspections.

'91 Ford Explorer - Brother wrapped it around a tree my freshman year of college
'94 Jeep Grand Cherokee I6 - Had from '03 through '10 and traded in for my current vehicle
'11 Toyota 4Runner - still have; spent too much to get it, but it's nice having leather seats, power locks/windows, functioning A/C, and the rear window rolling all the down is very useful

A guy I used to work with has a 69' Chevelle SS that he bought new off the lot. Still has it to this day and has only rebuilt the tranny once in the late 70s and replaced the radiator about 10 years ago.

at the ripe old age of thirty, i've only had 3 vehicles

1990 Toyota Camry
1998 Toyota Tacoma
2004 Jeep Wrangler

At times I wish that when I bought the Jeep, i would have kept my truck too. But it is what it is....really as soon as i get a utility trailer, i'll be set, for carrying lumber, taking trash to the dump etc

I've only purchased 2 cars. An Audi A4 that a truck ran into and totaled, and a newer A4 that I replaced it with. I like my current one.

  1. :gaah: I'm not a typist and can't get the tab button to go to 2 after listing my 1st car. My list would be '66 Ply Sport Fury Convertible, '64 Olds Super 88 4dr, '74 Fiat Sport L Coupe, '71 Datsun 1200 (B110), '74 Ply Scamp, '68 Dodge 3/4T PU, '72 Datsun 510 2Dr, '94 Dodge Shadow 2Dr, '92 Dodge Dakota PU, '82 Subaru GL 2Dr, and '66 Ford Galaxy 500 2Dr. I've had 49 different vehicles (cars, trucks, and vans) and this is just the list of the ones I wish I had back. I've also owned and ridden 13 different sreet/hwy motorcycles and wish I had these all back; '71 Honda 750, '72 Yamaha 650 twin, '71 Suzuki 500 2-stroke twin (very rare), and my '81 Honda 900 Custom.
