Blaming the media for the team's reputation with officials - That'll go over well.

Couldn't believe the refs missed Desjardins closing his hand on the puck and throwing it out of the crease though.

Mike Halford ‏@HalfordPHT now Gillis went from "not discussing officiating" to "Burrows most penalized player" & "that guy threw the puck out of the crease" pretty fast.

from the sounds of it ... Dave Tippett might indeed be the next canucks coach

tsnscottcullen: If #Canucks going younger, consider: Sedins 33 by next season, Bieksa & Burrows 32, Hamhuis, Higgins, Ballard 30.

What is all this crap coming from Gillis about the "landscape changing" and size and grit rather than skill being the way to go? Granted, I'd rather have a big skilled guy than a smaller skilled guy, but at the end of the day, skill will usually trump grit. The Hawks aren't a very big team, yet they are likely the most skilled team in the league (with the Pens likely coming in close behind). Doesn't most everyone have those two teams playing in the Stanley Cup Finals?

Maybe just maybe Gillis has misread how much actual skill they have remaining on the team?

Vigneault changed the way this team played this year (and at the end of last year) because he didnt trust the existing skill level on the team to get by teams that would grind them down in the playoffs

the problem is the only way you get top end skill is by sucking dick for 3 to 4 years and accumulating top 5 picks like Chicago and the Pens did

not that getting heavy skilled guys is easy

in summary theyre hooped

I was listening to 'The Moj' last night and he was in pretty good form - He was hammering on Gillis to the effect of "You say that since the Boston series in 2011 that the landscape was changing" but then you let Glass and Torres go and bring in Marco Sturm and Byron Bitz? Putting Aaron Volpatti on waivers?

/I like it when 'The Moj' is fired up.

can you blame any GM for disposing of a 2011 Raffi Torres? Sure he appears to have changed the way he plays now and has become for the most part an honest player (knock on wood - Torres' head?)

Glass? ... meh?

Marco Sturm came with Booth who flopped

Bitz reclamation project

Volpatti was a mistake and Gillis basically admitted to that in saying yesterday that they lost players in 2012-13 that they didnt want to

the bottom six has been a revolving door of plodding scrubs who dont contribute ... this was the case even before the cup finals

they have been on the eternal lookout for the skilled gritty size player ... like i said above ... good luck with that ... so are 29 other teams

Taking the TRAP to Vancouver would be interesting.

cant see it happening if Gillis is still GM. He stated in his end of season press conference that he will always put forth an entertaining team full of skill this goes against everything Tippet is as a coach. Can he even coach any other way?
