#Canucks goalie Cory Schneider can file for arb on July 5th. Agent Mike Liut has stopped takin calls - which indicates something is up.

Does anyone think that he would be a perfect target for an offer-sheet war? I think most of us agree that he's the best potentially available goalie right now. Lots of teams need goalies.

I see him getting almost $5M a year (5 year deal - $25M) anyway so any offer sheet around the $5M mark would be matched. anything over would depend on how over. no one is stupid enough to give up 5 1st round draft picks or whatever it is to really make the canucks walk away (well maybe no one) so Im not really worried about the offer sheet.

lol yeah I know there are some out there. I know.... I dont think Burke does it. I really dont believe Tamby does it to his old team (they HAVE to pay their stars in 2 years so they need a cheaper goalie) but I supposed some fool is out there.

I'd like to see Stan Bowman ratchet up the rivalry by tossing an offer sheet in front of Cory Schneider. The Hawks can't be very comfortable with Cory Crawford and Ray Emery as their goalies.

i believe the Canucks have the goalie situation FULLY in control and is allowing media and fan base to over react as they always do to keep the Canucks interest in high gear in the summer. it helps deflect the enormous failure of the 2011-2012 season and it works WELL.

How big of a fail would it be if Luongo stays? The whole 2011-2012 season would be highlighted.

1 - I wouldn't be surprised
2 - he would be moved by end of season
3 - dont think it would affect the locker room too much
4 - thats an EXPENSIVE backup
5 - fuck I said I wouldn't comment on Luongo rumours until he was traded. YOU TRICKED ME...

not taking calls from media anymore ... down to the short hairs on this deal

Botchford said Liut and Gillis have been deep in talks since friday night ... could be a signing

dont know why Crampy would do that though??? give away his hammer and sign early? unless he wants to stay here and doesnt want the team to be hamstrung with a 1 year over the top contract offer sheet :noidea:

Don't worry, most of us only read the last post in each thread anyway. :thumb:

2012 / 2013 offer sheet compensation table:

•$1,110,249 or below - No Compensation
•Over $1,110,249 to $1,682,194 - 3rd round pick
•Over $1,682,194 to $3,364,391 - 2nd round pick
•Over $3,364,391 to $5,046,585 - 1st round pick, 3rd
•Over $5,046,585 to $6,728,781 - 1st round pick, 2nd, 3rd
•Over $6,728,781 To $8,410,976 - Two 1st Round Picks, 2nd, 3rd
•Over $8,410,976 - Four 1st Round Picks

Come on Stan Bowman, throw Cory Schneider an offer sheet for $5,046,000? Canucks would likely match (but it's probably more than they would want to compensate Cory), and it would only cost a 1st and 3rd round draft pick if they don't.

more importantly ... if its a 1 year offer sheet (all things remaining the same ie cba) it takes Schneider to ufa next season

do gms really want to play this game though when they will have their own rfa's out there in the future (and with Chicago at 8 mill cap space)

and if Bowman is interested in Luongo (alledgedly) and trying to force Gillis's hand on that front ... you think Gillis will want to deal with Bowman on a trade for Luongo after he causes the canucks to pay more for Crampy???

CAMAN!!!! lol (yes Im part of the shap crew)
