The game was postponed due to a bear on the ice or a penguins fan couldn't tell so much hair

Lol. Oooo the cross-thread synergy! :pizza:

I actually woke to see the last minute and a half of the game. Fell asleep on the couch. Oh well.

Sad for the loss, but only 2-1 to Canada is pretty solid. They really are loaded.

Gotta beat the Slovaks tomorrow

Watching the replay right now.

Jones and, to a lesser degree, Mackinnon have been underwhelming.

Jones in particular looked shaken by the speed of the play.

Jones looks like Pronger to me. The wide ice negates his effectiveness. His game translates better to the NHL.

thanks for the supportive words, everyone. She's back to her normal self, bouncing into our room this morning to watch some Scooby Doo.

catching up:
- that RNH goal was a big-league shot. Fortunately, US were displaying little-league coverage on the play.
- Subban looking very good. That's the goalie we've been waiting to see.
- Galchenyuk was the most dangerous 'Murrican, imho. He's going to be a beast.
- Subban deserves MVP for Canada today. for the skaters it was largely a group effort. maybe Harrington in the mix.
- US just fell apart in the last 10 minutes. Housely's got to be fuming.
- of course, Canada gives those powerplay chances right back :L
- Huberdeau has an annoying smirk - pretty good cross penalty box chatter though "who are you?"
- wonder if Seth Jones still thinks US is the best team? lost to both Russia and Canada now. facing elimination tomorrow vs SVK.

exciting game.

Aside from the game against Germany, the forwards (aside from Galchenyuk) have been very underwhelming (and I thought Galchenyuk was pretty quiet against Canada as well). Flames pick Gaudreau has yet to score, although I think he's played ok (his linemates JT Miller and Grimaldi have been pretty terrible though).

Finland dodged a bullet today.
came back from 4-2 to tie it up with 90 second left vs the Swiss and win 5-4 in a shootout
Fins had 57 shots
