The States were playing their 6th game in 8 days and yet they looked like the rested team (so much more jump than Canada, beating them to loose pucks etc.)

I've said it for a couple of years now.. the selection squad outsmarts itself year after year. This tournament is about putting the puck in the net. Fuck the grinders and get more scoring out there. I don't care if the guy is only 5'10; if he's the best player he should be on the team.

The whole politics thing doesn't cut it either. Ryan Murphy sucks. He sucked in this tournament and he's been pretty shitty most of the year in Kitchener too. He had no business on this team much less being on the ice as much as he was. He just happened to play for Spott. Team Canada needs a coach who isn't currently employed in the CHL.

I'm not sure it makes any difference in this game but why was Subban THE GUY? Binnington was the best goalie in camp and outplayed Malcolm in the pre-tournament games. Yet he doesn't get a single minute of action until the proverbial nail is in the team's coffin? These are kids and this kind of thing is a terrible message to be sending to these young men.

I think we have to remember that during the five year gold medal streak, a lot of good fortune befall Canada (winning in shootouts, scoring tying goals in the dying seconds with the goalie pulled etc.). The concerning thing for me is that in two straight years, the team wasn't prepared to play in a semi-final game. That is the responsibility of the coaching staff and for whatever reason, those kids today were tighter than a snare drum.

I also didn't like splitting up MacKinnon and Drouin (why split up linemates?) and Brett Ritchie didn't look healthy to me all tourney. Some questionable calls regarding personnel decisions need to be answered by Team Canada officials.

imo he should keep the 'ie' and change the 'u' to a second 'o' which would cement his douche-y status
