Marv isn't going anywhere. one bad season after going to the playoffs for 4 straight years won't get him fired, not here.

I like the new kicker. we won't draft a new one. this guy is a solid kicker and well regarded.

He missed a 43 yard field goal to win it.... Indoors.

If he were better than average, he'd have a job. He isn't and he doesn't. Time to roll the dice with a draft pick. It's not like our 5th rounders do anything on our team anyway.

our kicker kind of got the shaft in houston. he had a bad streak, but then made up for it later. only to get released. he filled in nicely for several established kickers while they had injuries. I think he's staying. he was a top 10-15 kicker before becoming the leagues favorite journeyman kicker.

looks like I was wrong about Marvin though. wow.

if you watch that kick, you'll see what his mistake was not part of his kicking motion or aim, it was working together with the snapper and holder. that will be established. he will be a middle of the pack kicker for us next season.

if we want to use a pick when we have needs at most positions, I wouldn't be surprised, I just don't think it's not a need that can't be addressed by taking an undrafted free agent to compete with him in camp.
