If we keep Kendricks for at least another year our defense has a chance to surprise big time this year. Our front 7 was already damn good before, now we get Kiko and another year for our young group to take a step forward in their progress. Throw in Byron Maxwell and then the young guys with lots of talent - Rowe and Jaylen Watkins. We definitely have a chance to have a much improved secondary, which will be scary paired with our front 7.

Now we go to offense. Our starting o-line should be damn good, we have some young guys here that the coaches feel comfortable with. It would've been nice to add more depth and future replacements for the older guys, but if we can keep this o-line together like we did a couple years ago we will boast a top o-line. Throw in Jordan Matthews, Josh Huff, Nelson Agholor, Zach Ertz, Brent Celek with the ground and pound of D.Murray and R. Matthews…and a utility player like Darren Sproles -- we have some serious firepower. The life of the QB will be made much easier in our scheme, with our weapons, and with our improved run game.

We should once again have a dominant overall ST group.

Let's play ball.

That's the way I see it too. Mathews is going to be Sproles II. Should be tons of speed everywhere.

Anyone remember watching our team play vs WAS and DAL last year, division games, when we needed to win to survive???

There really is no question who played better between Sanchez and Foles last year. I think Kelly loves Sanchez and thinks he could resurrect his career. But he also loves the potential of Bradford even more. IMO it simply is Bradford > Sanchez => Foles. When you can trade the QB that your probably not going to start (and consequently will be gone in a year anyways), for a guy that could be a home run of a player at that position, you do it. Bradford could very easily be the starter for the next ten years here...or gone next year. Its that potential that is really a no brainer to spend a 2nd round pick and your backup QB on.

Kelly recognize Sanchez is at best a career backup who he can hang onto forever. He had no offers I'm aware of during the off-season. Foles would not have accepted that role past the end of his contract.
As for Bradford that is a different argument. It's a roll of the dice. He's got talent, can the iggles keep him upright to take advantage of that talent? Last year they were right in the middle of sacks allowed. Not an inspiring number if you're hoping Bradford can stay upright.
And then what, who?
It's all an adventure right now.

Sanchez refused to pull the trigger on some open receivers including Ertz in the Seattle game ... that one probably would have been a TD. The Washington game, very dumb and poor INT at the end, during a game when the O was moving pretty well. Dallas loss, I look at the defense... GB, it was just not our day, Sanchez was the last piece to fall, and he did so royally. Bradford, when healthy, is much better.

From Birds 24/7, some numbers in the Foles v. Sanchez debate...

From what Chip Kelly wants at quarterback to the Eagles’ age to Billy Davis’ blitz, here are three numbers that matter.

21 – That’s the percentage of Foles throws that were either underthrown or overthrown last year, according to Football Outsiders. Among the 36 quarterbacks who attempted at least 200 passes, Foles ranked 31st in this category. Only Cam Newton, Colin Kaepernick, Blake Bortles, Kirk Cousins and Brian Hoyer were worse.

There are plenty of different ways to measure accuracy, and this is one of them. But even in traditional completion percentage, Foles ranked 26th last year (59.8). He was playing behind a banged-up offensive line and had an inconsistent running game, but it's fair to say that one of the reasons Kelly traded Foles is because he didn't capitalize when he had opportunities.

Football Outsiders also charted the percentage of passes that were batted down or touched by an opposing defender. The number for Foles was 9.0 percent, which ranked 32nd out of 36 quarterbacks. What's interesting is that Foles didn't have a single pass batted at the line of scrimmage, but he still ranked poorly in this category for a number of reasons.

Inaccuracy, timing and decision-making allowed for defenders to break passes up. And it wasn't just Foles. The receivers have to take some responsibility for lack of separation and their performance in one-on-one situations.

If you're wondering about Mark Sanchez, he was 22nd in the overthrow/underthrow category at 18.4 percent. And he was 24th in the batted/defended category at 7.8 percent. Combined, Foles and Sanchez had just two passes batted at the line of scrimmage all year. As author Scott Kascmar notes, apparently the fly swatters at practice worked.

One thing that seems is that Kellydoesn't think his scheme is the problem. He believes that when the offense stalls, it's because of poor execution. And he obviously is convinced that a healthy Sam Bradford can execute at a higher level than Foles - specifically when it comes to accuracy and decision-making. If Bradford can stay upright, we'll find out if he is right.

I'd think it would take a few seasons for these new weapons to fully maximize their speed under Chip especially at QB. But getting lined up and set is more about the lineman and those WRs. They worked really hard at keeping the tempo blistering last season. Shady juking versus Murray resisting being tackled is a wash in my book(time wise). My concerns more lie with the decisions being made by every player and that not being rushed. Everybody is relying on making their read and then executing. So far there have been moments they looked rushed. So I'm fine with getting set quickly. How quickly the O as a whole can process and execute is what I'm interested in.
