Rick Neuheisel returns to UW | Video | The Seattle Times
Part 1 of an interview with Rick Neuheisel from the new stadium. This was shortly after he arrived and took his first look at the stadium and you can tell how jazzed he is over it. Great stuff.

In case you want the rest of it, here are parts 2 and 3.

Rick Neuheisel returns to UW, part two | Video | The Seattle Times
Rick Neuheisel returns to UW, part three | Video | The Seattle Times

I loved his recount of some of his time at the W and his story about curtis williams and what the team went through.

How can you not be pumped up after watching that pac12 network look at camp? We already knew that RN has UW as his sleeper pick for the conference, but there was quite a bit of behind the scenes looks at what they are doing and how they view their off season and progress.

Just can't wait for that game to get here.

This Aug in Seattle has been soo incredible weather wise, I don't want it to end just yet. Yes, looking forward to Huskies and Seahawks seasons as both could be really mindblowing, but just not quite ready for that BSU game......yet. More 80 degrees and sunshine first. :cool2:

Also going to be a lot tougher to get any news from the Huskies from now until game day. Even the press for the most part is booted from practices now that the game planning begins and will only be able to ask questions off the field after practices are over. But man, every time I'm driving over 520 into the city at night, I see that brand new W lit up on the back of the scoreboard and totally getting me amped for BSU and the season.

Go Dawgs!!!

Practices continue to be closed to the media. But Sark did talk after practice today with some updates:

Jesse Callier and Deontae Cooper will be playing against BSU.

Recent practices have been "energized and competitive".

They have begun to work on the depth chart and who will redshirt.

ASJ continues to non-contact practice with hand still in cast. No word on if he will play against BSU.

Travis Coons was 10 for 10 on field goals the past two days, including a 53 yarder.

High praise for Keith Price. Sark said the past two days has been his best and he's peaking at the perfect time with the game 12 days away.

Jaydon Mickens, Jesse Callier, Kevin Smith, Greg Ducre and Jermaine Kelly had reps at KR duty.

I don't think many are sleeping on ASU. UCLA is reloading and quite young in key positions, USC has Kiffin... enough said, and Arizona hasn't proven it can put a run together yet. ASU has as much chance as any of them.

Todd Graham is our modern day Frank Kush he's putting a solid 2014 class together and this is without our new stadium. Our first 5 games are brutal but I think we could go 3-2 or 4-1, but as Graham says "our expectations are to win every game on our schedule" Should be interesting with Jaxon Hood now weighing 320 and Sutton weighing in at 305 it looks like we could start shutting down the run game. Go Devils!!!!!!!!

As the it goes, new college coaches are not to be judged by their first recruit classes because they are usually slapped together in a month while still scrambling to get their coaching staffs together at the same time. It's that next class were they had a year to build their class to their needs that they can start being judged by. Both Zona schools are putting together impressive classes and everyone else in the PAC can see that. Add the PAC12network and broadcast deal $$$$, and every school in this conf can provide coaching payrolls and implement facilities upgrades they didn't dream possible only a few years ago. That will = the entire PAC making big strides in competition across the board in the conference and how we will be performing in bowls. Your already seeing it.

The broadcast deals are like you won the lottery. Each school getting an extra 20-30 mil shoved in their AD budgets each year. That is an incredible amount of cheddar. No excuse for not having top notch football operations and stadium facilities anymore.

Thurs 8/22 practice:

ASJ has been cleared to play against BSU, but whether he plays or not, will probably end up a game time decision.

Two players so far that are confirmed out for BSU are OL Erik Kohler who is still healing from an issue with a bone in his foot, and freshman DB Patrick Enewally who continues to be evaluated by hand specialists.

Jesse Callier and Deontae Cooper continue to practice at 100% and ready to go for the season.

Travis Coons will be handling the FG duties right now. Cameron Van Winkle will handle kick offs.

Sark is pleased they've made it through week 3 without any significant injuries, besides the finger issue with ASJ. Everything from this point on will be related to game planning for BSU.

Roster for BSU @ UW released.

Only real notes are ASJ is listed, Ross is the only true freshman on either starting unit, and seven others made the two deep.

It doesn't appear that ASJ being on that chart actually means he won't be suspended for the first game. It also doesn't mean he won't be held out with this finger. We just won't know if he will be playing until game time.

Sark held his first regular season press conference today.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins has yet to get the medical OK to play in Saturday’s opener against Boise State.

"He’s not cleared to play, at all," Sarkisian said Monday just after noon, when asked about Seferian-Jenkins’ broken pinkie finger on his right hand — on which the huge junior target had surgery two weeks ago.

No. 2 TE Michael Hartvigson and converted wide receiver Joshua Perkins continue to practice with the first-team offense.

Sarkisian will continue to “try to make practices as chaotic as possible” — with blaring music, crowd noise piped in, substitutions, physicality, etc. — this week.

"Hopefully when they get out there they can handle the setting; I think they will," the coach said on the eve of his fifth season starting at UW. "We’ve put them in a lot of extreme circumstances, and they’ve gotten good at responding to extreme situations.

"The crowd noise will be an issue, and we need to communicate really well defensively."

Freshmen wide receiver John Ross and defensive tackles Joe Mathis and Elijah Qualls have been practicing with the first-team offense for most of August, and are likely to play a lot against Boise State.

Sarkisian also mentioned the following freshman as those he expects to contribute significantly this season: Trevor Walker at safety plus Damore’ea Stringfellow and Darrell Daniels at wide receiver.
