Cam on a cheap one year deal, with a chip on his shoulder, needing to prove he is still valued and the Pats going to more run oriented offense the signing makes a lot of sense. I too am not a fan of him but I would like to see how the experiment works out.

i know, i already said i was wrong. i said he was recruited to be not just a QB, due to his athleticism. thus, spurriers comments on him at TE.

i dont know much about him, dont really care to. i just recall reading something to the effect they wanted to try him at other positions at FL, as tebow had the starter spot locked down, and cams a freak athlete.

Yep. He's messed up. I love the guy and will be pulling for him to throw for 350 yards every game but for them to still lose somehow.

What I find interesting here is Cam has never been a pocket passer, but he could pass from the pocket..sure, he had an NFL arm, but coupled with his size and agility...he was literally a different animal as a runner, if he got on the edge it was almost 4-6 yds every time.

But at somepoint the hits that didn't matter 5 or 6 yrs ago start to matter now.

So...I'm very curious to see Cam 2.0.

It'll be interesting to see who's out there Week 1. Whoever it is, it's a significant upgrade over last year.

i think by default (and the fact its a throw away year really for this team til the 100 mil in cap space in 2021) cam starts. he falters fast? bring in studham, let him fly.

if the pats went out and paid cam what he wanted id want NO part of this. i tell people i still have my boomer esiason jets jersey (true story) and would break it out if him or dalton landed here.

but its 1 year, low dollars, and a guy whos desperate for one last big contract.

its a win win and if he fails, he fails.
