Heisman trophy winner Caleb Williams has decided to skip the Holiday Bowl and enter into the NFL Draft. What does everybody think of him and his projection into the NFL?

Basic facts:
- 22 years old. Going to be 23 on November 18th.
- 6'1 and 215 pounds
- Started 7 games for the Oklahoma Sooners, 26 games for the USC Trojans
- In 2022, he won the Heisman, Maxwell, Walter Camp, AP College Football Player of the Year and Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year awards.
- Won 70% of his games (23/33) as a starter.
- 2023: 9th best passer rating in college football, 7th most passing yards, 8th most TD passes. Only had 5 picks all season long.
- Currently projected to be drafted in the 1st round and be the 1st or 2nd quarterback taken off the board.
- USC has a history of quarterbacks flopping in the NFL. Carson Palmer (2003) was the last productive USC quarterback to get drafted into the NFL. Matt Leinart, Mark Sanchez, and Sam Darnold are the most recent big misses.

If Patrick Mahommes had gone to the bears, he would probably be a back up somewhere. If the Bears take Caleb Williams, he is going to be terrible. I don’t think he has the mental fortitude to keep from shitting his pants daily in Chicago. If he cries to his mommy after a loss in college, he’s not going to be able to handle the press after 1 interception.

My guess is that if Mahomes would've gone to a bad team he would've had a Tony Romo-ish career. The mistakes amplified but he still would won a lot of games.

But just people a draft prospect has a type doesnt mean he'll be that exact player. Its just an idea of where he should go in the draft. With Williams, thats pick 1 or 2

Wears number 13, nose is too big to be able to survey the field, doesn't know how to hold the football.

2/10

Wood not draft.

i don't care much for the perceived attitude but he slings it all around the yard, many times perfectly....but that may have something to do with number 13. I've always kinda liked it.

I think 2023 hurt his draft stock, and skipping the bowl games hurts it too. Seeing whos on top of the draft board, those minuses could be pluses.

He's hoping that, maybe he falls and lands in a better situation.

I understand not playing the bowl game. Why risk injury when your future could be massively impacted by it? I haven’t followed all the drama around him but he sure can play ball and I think he’ll do well.

I get playing in a meaningless game won't help him, but by not playing I think it shows he isn't team first.

Perhaps, but he’s about to transition from being a student to a professional. If anything this shows his commitment to staying healthy in preparation for that transition.

Everyone does this now. Playing in a bowl game cost Jaylon Smith a lot of money.

Or it shows when things aren't going good, he's not interested. I'm a fan of Caleb but this isn't a good look.
