I think we should pump the brakes a little on this Fire Z talk. This is a backup catcher we are talking about. His defense is below average for catcher. Sucre probably grades out better there. It confusing but its a business at the end of the day, lets see how it pans out
yeah, i agree

there are dozens of other reasons to complain about z

It's highly unlikely any blockbuster will include a backup catcher.

big deals often include a bunch of shit shuffling, though yeah, it's usually d grade prospects.

very strange.

we'll see.

Its not the matter of a backup catcher being cut as the issue, but it is about breaking up chemistry. We suffered through Ichiro years of bad chemistry and Sexton and his bad attitude hurting the club. Don't undervalue chemistry.

Lloyd said it was because Sucre deserved the call up and it was his time.

Definitely not undervaluing it. I am just waiting to see how this plays before I have a firm opinion on it.

Ya it may not make one bit of difference in the way they play, but why chance that when the replacement probably isn't that big of difference? That is my issue. If we were adding Molina from Cards, then heck ya.

And for the record, I like Sucre. I just thought it was odd timing for the move, but the game goes on.

Well if this weren't the M's then I'd think it was the sign of an impending trade. But it's probably just another instance of some bumbling idiot in the FO trying to mess with something that's obviously working.

That being said, if the pitching staff isn't comfortable with him then he needs to go. If any of the other players have a problem with it then they just have to check their own stats at the plate to figure out who's winning ballgames right now.

Isn't it awesome to care about this team this much in July that we are debating about cutting the back up catcher. Does this mean were back?:suds:

He was popular, it was his birthday, and it really didn't matter if this move happened a couple of days from now. The other players were probably wishing him a happy birthday before the game and he gets sent packing afterwards? I understand this is professional baseball but have a fucking heart. Did it really matter if this happened now vs. tomorrow or the next day? They're clueless.

Stupid thought, but do they look at Sucre (batting .346 over last 21 games) to see if he can be everyday catcher with Zunino (Jack move) on block for a bat or SP (Cubs for Castro and SP along with Walker?)

Sorry, it isn't easy trying to think like Jack. It makes me dizzy.
