What did it for me with PLD is the Wild game. I believe he was challenged by Foligno and he backed away and while he was skating to the bench he pushed Faber. When he came over, I didnt know much about him other than he wanted out of Winnepeg and Columbus. I remember someone saying that he played with an edge and had some grit. I was pretty excited knowing thats what the roster was in dyer need of. I saw none of that and thought pushing a smaller younger player in Faber was a punk move. Then hearing he was a cancer in the lockeroom. I am glad he is gone.

Its too bad Lizzard doesnt have the size that PLD has. He would be a perfect match. If somehow we could just combine the two. LOL

I remember that distinctly, it was a total bitch move. Yeah, let's hit the rookie D1 but walk away from a guy who you would have probably held your own against. I didn't like that at all.

Laferriere gets in a scrap his first NHL game defending a teammate who took a questionable hit, notice no one messed with Laferriere again all season long. He set his tone for himself, sent a message to the league yes I'm a rookie but you won't be railroading me or my teammates.

I remember Doughty saying "we like him playing pissed off" or something like that in TC last year, we didn't see a lot of that during the season. When he was engaged, he was a bull. I remember certain games he was just laying bodies out and looked angry and played well. Guess the CA sunshine and $8.5 million mellowed him out.

And completely agree, The Lizard in PLDs body would be the prototype hockey player. Big, determined, take no prisoners.

We were already missing that. Since he put up 40 points last year. The 1 point in 5 games against Edmonton was pretty much the last piece for me. No scrums, no fights, no points. Just comes off as defeatist. It is what it is, but personally, I'm glad he's gone.

Well that's kind of my point, Who was the last king's third line center that got sixty points

Crazy how Caps are optimistic and excited about the coming season and Kings fans are just glad PLG is gone and have little upside to hope for

The allure of PLD is something for sure. Big size, skill, power forward so I can see why Blake wanted him and why Caps fans are optimistic.

Their center depth was decimated last season so he will immediately slot in as 2C for sure, maybe even 1C because on paper he looks like a massive upgrade over Strome who was essentially their 1C last season. In LA if he was here and PLD still was, he'd be the 4C over Lizotte.

I fully expect him to reach 60 points again being put in that position vs where he was here but it won't matter if the effort isn't there. This is team four in 5 years, he's going to run out of chances. He got his big money so it's another opportunity for him to prove it wasn't about the money and it about being a star and a professional. If he stinks the place up under these circumstances, well then I believe we all have our answer and I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave the league in a few years.

As for us, the Kings have taken steps backwards since that 7 game series in 2022 and that's all on Bowlby. Sucks for us, I don't even expect this team to be entertaining this season. Hope I'm proven wrong but I just don't see how this team will compete with the PD and teams like Nashville.

PLG certainly is lazy and lacks heart, drive and whatever else, always been this way. LA never really gave him a chance and shit on him from day 1. I do find it interesting Roy is OK being his teammate for the foreseeable future. I will be suprised if he doesnt ho back to his typical production since he will be 2C.

Pretty sure we'd have to go back to the high flying early 90s.

PLG being the square peg in the round hole, supposed to magically make it happen because Blake gave him to much $$$. Hes not even any kind of shut down player. Should have swapped him and Dunno, but no because Tomo got 30g....Dunno also got 1 more g than PLG while playing those better minutes.

Im mostly bored...nothing going on and im sick of painting the house

I never really watched him too much when he was in Columbus but did in Winnipeg and it sure seemed like he put in better efforts there. Not sure if it was the quality of linemates or what but he just seemed to be a much more engaged player. The highlight of Columbus was obviously the infamous shift that basically ended up being his last there with Tortorella benching him and the trade soon after.

I read that article too, where Roy squashed any notion that he was a problem on or off the ice. I mean it's probably true but what else was he supposed to say you know? They both have long haul contracts now so I guess it'll reveal itself. I believe both guys are there through 2030.

And I'm fully expecting 25/35 from this guy there since he will be with Ovechkin most likely and won't be stifled offensively or stuck on the third line with a Lewis on his wing.

With big money comes big expectations obviously but I had no idea the Kings would keep him basically as the 3C all season. I absolutely thought they'd bump Dunno down to 3C because that's what he's really suited for - he isn't a 2C by any means. Salary wise it made sense, you had Kopitar at $10 million, PLD at $8.5 million and Dunno at $5.5 million.

So I was completely surprised to see him stay at 3C as the season went along but you're right, McLellan wasn't about to split up Dunno and Moore. Moore is a B6 player on a contending team, most likely LW3. So why not drop that whole damn line down and elevate PLD to give him a chance to earn that $8.5 million and produce? PLD may have sand bagged it but LA certainly did no favors for him either. It was just a complete cluster all around.

I didn't even realize Dunno only scored 1 more goal than PLD did, that's pretty pathetic.

Im mostly bored...nothing going on and im sick of painting the house

Reminds me of Covid days, I painted almost the entire interior of the house minus my master bedroom and bath and the kids bathroom. I have 23' vaulted ceilings on one side of the house and that was sketchy at times being up that high.

I'm a perfectionist too (tape, silicone, the whole 9 yards) so I took my time but it took me probably a good 4 months to get the entire house done. Last summer 3 kids rooms got painted, I swear I can't even look at a paint brush still.

Have been getting some much needed electrical and plumbing done so far this summer.
