According to Sportsnet.ca the Flyers and Bryzgalov have a deal in place but cannot announce it until July 1st. It was mentioned the deal is for 7 years and around 50 million. That is absurd but I am happy to have him in orange and black. Now the interesting part who goes? Carter at this point is not untouchable. I can see a lot of changes being made prior to the draft.

Stupid move by the FO. He is clearly the most expendable piece on this team. His playoff performances alone prove that he isn't worth $5+ million per year. That money would be better spent on 2-3 other players that actually show up in April/May/June.

I don't think he will be getting 50 million but it will be in that ballpark. The years sounds about right. I hope in his contract it will state he is not allowed to do dangerous stunts etc. With this kind of investment. Big money!

If this is true, that is way too high of a price and obviously too many years. No goalie in the entire Nhl makes that kind of money and is anyone ready to say that Bryz is the top goalie in this league? I think not.

$7.14 million per year is the equivalent of just throwing extra money at a guy for shits n giggles. $6.35 million would already make him the second highest paid goalie in the Nhl. Legitimate teams don't overpay by THIS much, so I tend to think that this not an accurate figure.

Might I remind you that this is all based on one stupid article saying it MIGHT be something like 7/50. How many of these articles do we see or hear everyday? Dozens! Well, if Bryz wants 7/50 or something in that area, he's not going to get it from the Flyers. He'll walk on July 1st and sign with a team that will pay him more, then he'll never win another Cup.
