Why does the rink have to be offset like that? I understand it was designed for basketball, but the basketball court isn't offset too, is it?

cock and balls?
14,500 is more than the Islanders have been averaging the past few years. They'll make it work. It's a new arena. Everything is state of the art. Wang realized he wasn't going to get a new arena. This is the next best thing. I realize it's not ideal. Maybe in the next 27 years there will be some renovations. Time will tell.
who owns this arena anyway?
true its not ideal but it is the best option ... I couldnt see Prokhorov expanding the arena for a tenant
/but maybe if he becomes part owner ??? ....
I doubt it. Prokhorov hasn't shown any interest in owning a hockey team. Of course now that the Islanders are in his building it might change things. From a business stand point owning both teams in your arena makes a lot of sense.
Mikhail Prokhorov ... Russian billionaire ... owns the nba team ... publically stated he doesnt want to own a hockey team
/edit: (minority owner at 45% )
27 years for him to change his mind ... or for the Nets to win an NBA championship ... yah right who am i kidding lol

I want Corey Perry & Getzlaf on the Islanders next year!!:
However, I'd settle for Zajac & Clarkson.
Jesus, we had a year of vultures circling around Parise now we have deal with this?

What's Larsson doing nowadays?

New York is many things. It is a center for culture and arts and fucking annoying sports teams.
So, it's like Philly, but with arts and culture.
A native New Yorker once told me in New York if you aren't scaming someone they're scaming you.
That's kind of a sad perspective on life.
