Thanks for posting this @Cali

My biggest takeaway beyond the usual blah, blah, blah, is his concession on getting a QB. "We're going to get a guy that we like, but we're not going to mortgage the future."

This literally means that they aren't going to trade up in the draft or trade very much for a player on another team. Forget, Tua, Jimmy G or guys on that level, their teams are going to want more than Rivera and Co. wants to pay, which is likely a 3rd or some equally asinine BS. Forget the cost to move up in the draft. Again, if they wanted to, they could have done that last draft where there was much better talent, but they didn't because it cost too much. What's left? taking the best of the rest in the draft when it's their time to pick.

That is quite a concession, considering the pretty weak 2022 QB draft class that's going to yield more guys who aren't starter ready than the one or two who arguably might be.

They would have been no better with Fitz, in fact, I believe with him, they would be 1-7 right now and Heinicke would have replaced him in the lineup.

Do you think the cost was high to trade up for Mac Jones? I dont think so. RR is blowing smoke. He grabbed Fitz b/c he thought he could win now with a vet QB and a good defense. Its the exact same philosophy that Bruce Allen had trading for Alex Smith. Now Fitz got hurt and the defense stinks and now RR has to answer. The thing is he has no answers b/c the has two UPS workers trying to score points for him in TH and Blewitt.

I think he owes it to the fans to see what K. Allen can do. If he goes into the Tampa Bay game with no changes at all then he is all out of answers for this team.

That's non sense. Fitz is a NFL QB. Heiny is not.

The reality check moment that every team and their fans dread when things are going bad, comes with the realization that other bad teams on their schedule circle, or put a check mark, by this team as a win for them.

No, what you've stated is nonsense! Fitz is a journeyman QB, not a starter quality one, just like Heinicke.
