Yup that has been his MO his entire career. Now while he is keeping the interceptions down it just means they have been playing more field position football instead of him putting his defense in a bad spot. The defense being near the bottom in the league in points per game given up then should show they are at best a very inconsistent defense. They have played some great games like holding the Chiefs to 17 or the Rams to 13 but then they have had the 48 they gave up to the Cardinals or 37 they gave up to the Lions.
One stat that has to improve for the Broncos in this one though is what they do on 1st and 2nd down. Part of the problem for the offense this year has been that no other team in the league has had as many 3rd down and 8 or longer plays. We are not getting it done on the early plays on the ground or through the air. We have to pick up positive yards. This is where @randymon would say "we have to get the run game going." I agree. The run game is going to have to step up. As I listed before I do like the chances of the run game having a bit more success in this one.
You guys didn't do your homework. Cutler missed the Seattle game with the hamstring injury. They scored ZERO points in that game with Clausen. That skewed the points per game for the season. In the 8 games that Cutler has started, they have averaged 24.9 points per game. Cutler has played at a very high level. 95.3 passer rating and he's ranked #9 in QBR. Don't let that 1 game against Seattle where Cutler didn't play fool you into thinking the Chicago offense hasn't been good. They couldn't do a thing with Clausen that day, but they've been good with Cutler. 25 points per game with Cutler is good. They've been throwing it plenty too. Plenty of games where Cutler has 40+ attempts, so his small amount of INTs isn't a case of them being overly conservative with him. He's simply playing at a very high level.
