Lock has really grown on me late in the year. See how he looks in offseason stuff but he is trending for me.

Haskins still my favorite of this years class but Lock seems like a better possibility for us at this time.

I was eyeballing this guy towards the end of the season when the draft order was firming up. It looked like he would drop around our pick and he appears to be an impact player at a position of need for us.

I have also warmed up to Lock - considerably in the last two months. I like seeing guys who improve their game each season - shows good work ethic - pride in what he does. He has a plus plus arm.

One thing that I think is over looked a bit in QBs is the ability to read defenses pre and post snap. This is really what made Peyton Manning who he was. Peyton had good physical tools, but will never be considered the most physically talented QB in the NFL, but will be one of the greatest to play the game. I do think grading this trait is very very difficult especially given the way the college game is played.

You are as lucid as they come - JD. That self-appointed anointer of poster of the Month - @Draft Crazy should take note.

Yo Mingo! I must point out and in defense of @Draft Crazy, I literally had to force the issue to get him into POTM status. He knows he's good but tends to shy away from the spotlight. Good thing for us that we keep him humble, while celebrating his status on these boards simultaneously!

The more I watch ( and read about ) Daniel Jones, the more I realize that he might be the best of the group in regards to you statement

True, but his accuracy is average at best. His last game brought his season to 60%, and thats almost Tebow level.

but, but, but...he also didn’t have either a good OL or good WRs.

I only saw him once, and was impressed. But it’s dangerous to judge any player off of one game.

I would disagree. TJ Rahming is a very good NFL caliber WR. He also had two pretty good RB’s with him in Brittain Brown who got hurt and then Deon Jackson who filled in even better for him after Brown went down. OL is always weak at Duke.

I’m a smidge down on Greedy Williams too. He ended the year kind of rough. Texas A&M abused him in their 7 OT win. Still my top CB in this years draft but he is not on Denzel Ward’s level from last year. A good CB can wait in this years draft if we elect to go elsewhere. Rounds 2 and 3 will have some nice value.

Duke's pass catchers did not help him much .. or his OL

In the game vs Virginia, it became almost comical at one point with guys dropping passes

@:35 - you cannot throw a better pass than that ... that sort of snowballed for the next few minutes in terms of guys dropping passes

I agree Geo- we have nothing behind Keenum and he isn’t long term here.

I would be fine with Rypein as a project QB late. Kevin Hogan isn’t much of a backup.

Rahming is an NFL WR. Had a great start to his FR year, down soph year , decent JR year. Ended the season well. See how he does with Quenton Harris next year.
