I don't know about you fellas but I'm tired of all the Bronco bashing. Especially within our own fan base and on here as well. Here is an example and I hope you fellas add some more. I don't like typing 1 page posts but I could on this subject.

I just watched Jamie Dukes (I know, I generally don't pay attention to that uniformed Bronco hating fool) but it there seems to be a consensus that our D is terrible. Just look at the last 4 weeks, they're playing very very well right now. For instance both Dukes and Baldinger said they would take the Pats D (ranked 26th) over the Broncos D (ranked 19th) and Denver's D is smoke and mirrors. Really? Dukes said that teams are so far behind that they have to throw and that's the reason Denver is ranked 7th in rush D. Hmm really!? Yes we are 25th in attempts against but he made it sound like teams don't even attempt to run against us or have to abandon the run game by halftime. For instance if you add just one more run per game we jump to 19th in attempts against per game and 2 more runs per game we jump all the way to 8th. I know, I know, "what if's" but it's legit IMO. There's about 63 offensive plays per game in the NFL and just two more runs or about 3% more jumps us to 8th in attempts against. Now those two fools would have a point if teams ran 10-15-25% less but they don't.

I don't think I've ever seen a team that so many people really liked at the beginning of the season as a SB team, drop so far in these "so called experts" opinion. I have a friend that thinks the perception of the Broncos changed after the Dallas game. I think he's right and the Broncos are getting very little love for what they've done lately. How many wins do we have, yeah that's right 14 and counting! Are we playing in the AFC Championship, Hell yeah! Must be all those smoke and mirrors.

Truth is I generally don't care what the experts say but it seems everyone looks at the Broncos as a lucky team that can't do anything but throw the ball and I'm personally getting tired of hearing it...

Let them bask in the glow of their own ignorance. Then we Bronco fans can laugh all the way to the Super Bowl.

BTW... This is yet another reason I want Denver to demolish the Patriots this week.

I used to really get worked up over the lack of critical thought that went into sports journalism. Now I find it amusing. The lack of fact-checking is laughable. On ESPN today they had a blurb on the Broncos, and a graphic on the screen informed viewers that the Broncos have been to 4 conference championships before this year. That makes the Broncos the most amazing team in football if you think about it. After all, they've been to 6 Super Bowls, so they must have been so good two of those years that the league just agreed to send them to the Super Bowl without making them play a conference championship game!

FWIW, this is the Broncos 9th AFCCG. They are 6-2 in their previous 8, with the Bills and Steelers the only teams to have beaten them in the conference championship.

This right here though makes me wonder if Vegas actually owns the sports networks and tells them to steer fans a certain way. The average fan isn't going to fact check things like this. I would hope anybody over the age of 30 would know this is idiotic just in knowing all the Super Bowls Elway went to alone.

I definitely have gotten to where I watch the NFL Network just for entertainment purposes than anything else. They used to actually talk football and seem to talk half way intelligent but they are going the way of ESPN of trying to turn into a soap opera. I keep hoping Terrell Davis will find a better network to use his intelligence on but hey you take work where you can find it I guess. For actual intelligence I do have a few guys that I like to listen to that seem to have their heads on straight. They seem few and far between these days though.

I too sometimes find it annoying that the Broncos don't seem to get enough credit on ESPN and NFL Net for what they have accomplished in their history. At the same time, over the past fifteen years, which is a fairly long period, our team has come up short in its most important games (other than the playoff wins over the Pats and Steelers). Win two more games and the Broncos will get their due for a while.

I doubt even if we win it that we would get what we are due. Denver is not in one of the major markets like that of Boston, LA, NY, Dallas, or Miami. These places will always be talked up more than they should. Only teams that I see get talked up every year that aren't in those markets are teams that have dominated in the NFL for years like that of Pittsburgh. They have at least done something as of recent in their history.

I used to feel slighted when the 4 letter Network did not show or talk about the Broncos when they were playing well.

Then I came to realize two things.

The more you fly under the radar, the better overall it is. Less media attention = less pressure and less distractions.

Now the title game and Superbowl are obviously going to be different, but I already notice the AFC title game is more Brady Manning than it is Denver NE.

The other thing I have learned is that ESPN and NFL Network are run and staffed by a bunch of idiots. They don't know what they are talking about most of the time.

Iknwftbll pointed out that ESPN put up a graphic yesterday showing that Denver had been to 4 previous AFC title games.

:wtf2: :laugh3: :omg:  :lame:

Hell, we have won more than 4 let alone appeared in 4 previous ones. 6-2 in AFC title games. Only lost to Steelers and Bills.

Patriots have been in 9 title games and are 7-2, so after Sunday, we will be equal and after February, we will have as many Superbowl wins.

Believe it.

Oh I don't mind flying under the radar one bit. I remember with the Tim Tebow craziness it was fun for about a month but then just got annoying as I will get out. I couldn't believe what I was telling myself but I was hoping the networks wouldn't talk about the Broncos at all. Mostly that was because Tebow got all the attention instead of the team which isn't his fault exactly just the media latch on to what sells and well Tebow is what sold at that time and even today still sells.

Exactly. We got attention for all the wrong reasons. It was a circus.

I have come to realize that when it comes to the sports media, there are far too many outlets and not enough quality voices to supply the demand........

Go Broncos!

Haha! So true! But it's also important to remember these sports media types are not in it to provide accurate information. They are in it to generate ratings. And most of them are decent at that, as evidenced by all the conversation they generate. You can't generate that kind of buzz if people aren't reading and watching. Case in point: how many times have you ever heard someone rave about how smart Pete Prisco is? How about Colin Cowheard? Mark Kizla? Most of us would call all three a hack, yet they continue to be successful. Not because they are good at analyzing sports, but because they are good at generating ratings.

LOL IKF...That has to be "spot on" because I don`t know how many times after one of the NFL Network or ESPN "experts/commentators get done talking I say out loud..." OMG! I can speak better than that" or " how in the hell is he on here?" or " WTF did he just say?" and most often.." what an idiot!". Your right IKF. You certainly don`t need a degree in communications or have a decent knowlege of the game. It`a all about the ratings for sure.:agree::suds:

I just hate that ratings play a role in all of this though. I used to love listening to Adam Schefter and still do at times but sometimes he just seems to get caught up in the media hype.

Spot on, iknow......

I remember watching that old ESPN reality show "Who wants to be a Sportscenter Anchor?" or whatever it was called and when they got to the debate portion of the competition, the host said something like:

"Here at ESPN we like to promote debate, and having the ability to think on your feet is very important. Sometimes it becomes difficult when you as the person in the debate do not agree with the point of view you have been given to debate."

Right then I was like "WTF????" That was proof positive that half of what Skippy Bayless and Stephen A$$ Smith come up with is pure fabrication based on ratings.

LOL

that right there is all you need to know. I don't understand how he makes a living doing what he does.....but then there are a lot of people on TV, period, I feel the same way about.

Thats why I try to avoid the 4 letter network. How much Brady vs Manning can a person listen to before wanting to jump off a bridge? ESPN and other media outlets dont understand that teams win football games not just QB's.

LOL

I watch sports center and some of the more "news" based programs on ESPN and NFL Network. It's the analysis stuff that is an epic fail. Skip and Stephen A are both a couple of tools. Tony Kornholer is a hack on a level that would make Mark Kizla envious.

I've often told my wife I would make a better sports writer than most that I read. My problem is now I don't get as analytical about the games on a technical level as I used to. But if sports writing were my job I could dive back into that in a flash. When CBS was up, most of the guys there would comment how the CBS Broncos board was often the most reliable resource for news and analysis of the Broncos. We do a better job commenting about our team than most, even if it means acknowledging when we are about to get beat. With the regulars we have here, I think we are pretty honest with ourselves about this team. So even though we are "biased fans" we still spit out a better take on the Broncos than just about any sports writer or network talking head out there.

At least you can turn of the media when they say stupid crap. Try working with a bunch of Chiefs fans and hearing, "The Broncos are going to lose because they are too busy goofing around, they aren't taking it as serious as the Patriots are." Or this gem, "Brady wants to win this game more than Manning. He's focused in on the here and now while Manning is too busy worrying about his legacy."

Yes, those are real things I've heard and no, I don't know what they mean either.

Odd that as Chiefs fans they know what each QB is thinking, since they'd be used to NOT knowing.
