Well I would almost be willing to bet money that the first game of the year now will be Houston @ Denver.

With both (I believe) Carolina and NE on the home schedule, I doubt it. But I can definitely see it as a Sunday nighter. Ya never know though.

Well so far they have never done a Super Bowl repeat. They like to save that for later in the season so to me Carolina is out of the picture. With the chance that Brady is suspended for 4-games I doubt that they are on the radar either. My guess is either KC or Houston.

Brady suspended? All the more reason for the first game to be NE @ DEN. At least from our perspective. Although it would be cool to see Siemian carry on the long Broncos tradition of crushing Brady.

Anyway, good points, cdumler. I guess Houston's a lot more likely than I thought.

Vic Lombardi tweeted that he texted and talked to Brock this morning and really thought he would be staying. I guess Brock thought the Broncos would try and match Houston's offer is what he tweeted. Obviously Brock does not know Elway all that well if he thought he would match that deal.

Damn. All that time prepping and grooming the guy down the toilet.

I totally agree, Doc. Oz proved to be at least a mediocre, and potentially a very good QB during his 7-game starting stretch. And we basically groomed him for 3 years for another team to reap the benefits of his maturation. We did all of the work for them, and now the Texans are going to find out how good he can become.

I think he'll do well, and I wish him luck, but $18M is a lot for a player who hasn't started a full season. I'm sure we will all be keeping tabs on how he does next season and in the rest of his career.

Also, with Oz I thought we had a chance to repeat. Now I think that chance is out the window.

Playoffs? Yes. Super Bowl? No.

"We've stayed true to our philosophy of building a team with players who want to be Denver Broncos and want to be here," general manager John Elway told the team's website. "That's been a successful approach for us. While we did offer a very competitive and fair long term contract to Brock, we ultimately had to remain disciplined while continuing to assemble a roster that can compete for championships."

"Shocked. I thought Brock wanted to play with us. Lol," tweeted Denver cornerback Chris Harris.

I'm hoping Osweiler becomes the next Matt Flynn.

I see us as bottom feeders at this point hope Elway has a plan cause I don't see it happening this year and I am fine ... Glad we found out he has weak chin .

Per a source with knowledge of the terms, Osweiler received a $12 million signing bonus. He also has a $4 million fully-guaranteed base salary in 2016, a $5 million roster bonus due in March 2016, a fully-guaranteed base salary of $16 million in 2017

That is not a lot of money guarantee after year two they can cut him

My best guess at this point is he will peak at somewhere between #3-#10 QB in the league. However, it will be a bigger challenge with the Texans than it would have been with the Broncos.

That was an optimistic POV. ;)

Perhaps it was optimistic. I don't think I was the only one who thought that though.

Did you not see any scenarios where we might repeat? We just won the Super Bowl with some of the worst QB play ever seen. Why could we not have done that with a QB who is better suited to this offense and already had experience in it?
