If last night's game wasn't the best overall team performance of the season then it's at least in the discussion. Felix was as good as he's been all year, the defense was perfect, and the offense got it going and pulled away late in the game. A good 1-2-3 confidence booster for Cishek, too.
1 game back. Time to get that 9th straight home win. Remember when we couldn't play well at home?
The season has been all about the schedule. It was very favorable in April and May, brutal in June and July, and favorable again in August and September. June and July were the keys to the season in my opinion. Previous Mariner teams would have gotten buried in those two months, and never recovered. But this Ms team stayed close enough to the pack so that they could catch up as the schedule swung back in their favor.New majority owner taking over was the best news EVER this year... But this late season push is something that's been uncharted territory for the M's for a very long time... It's good to see for sure...
It was nice to see the M's pull away from the Brewers towards the end of the game as opposed to letting the 9th inning be more interesting than it needed to be. More of that would be very much appreciated. I'm going to game 3 for my birthday and I'm a bit sad that I missed Felix by one day, but here's hoping we get a solid start from Miranda and the bats pick up where they left off towards the end of this game.
Rangers, Blue Jays and Red Sox all lost.
