Yeah, I agree. I understand that it's impossible for a coach to keep tabs on these guys 24/7. But when a program has a lot of arrests over a short period of time (or now multiple programs), it's time to look at how recruits are being vetted and how players are being monitored!!

Dude, come on. This is the first big issue they've had in over a year. To give some perspective, out of the three OSU's in the nation (Oregon State, Okie State, and Ohio State), Urban Meyer has done the best job of keeping his kids out of trouble of the 3 over the past year.

It was his 1st HC job so he let it happen once.

And as far as Beaver arrests, stealing ghey sheep is a common practice in Corvallis. As well as naked LBers entering homes and when confronted by police getting into a 3 point stance in the buff... (and yes, these actually did that) no joke.

I got quite a good laugh at that one.

In regards to Ohio State, they had an all hands on board meeting this morning, and I can't imagine it was pleasant. Even the biggest Meyer haters can't rip on his track record at OSU when it comes to being a disciplinarian. Last year, Storm Klein was accused of domestic assault and was immediately kicked off the team. He was later found to be innocent, and only then was he let back on the team. I'd say a "guilty until proven innocent" approach is a pretty short leash. The same approach is being used with Hyde, as he hasn't even been arrested or charged yet. Only if he's found innocent will he be allowed back on. It isn't like LSU with Jeremy Hill laughingly beating the shit out of a dude and still being on the team to this day.

Is this some sort of sign of an epidemic? Obviously not. He can't place the kids on house arrest. Before this weekend, the only players to actually be charged with something that turned out to be true were 2 kids that peed on the side of a building when they were drunk... not a big deal. If Hyde's guilty, he's gone for good. If Roby is guilty, he will at the very least miss the first few games, if not booted. Meyer has done a very good job so far at OSU, even kicking kids off the team that didn't break the law but just acted in a manner Meyer didn't like. The leash is plenty short, and I can say after this weekend it is even shorter.
