It's unfortunate as far as possible trade value but he should be able to return to have enough time before the deadline

The story of this season's Flyers. So much for a trade.
Not necessarily. Edmonton has always been interested in Coburn and, as they are going nowhere this season, would still be interested. A few names have been thrown around in the rumor mill, but one deal that makes some sense is Coburn to Edmonton for Yakupov (RFA) and Jeff Petry (UFA). Petry holds down the fort this year allowing to youngsters to continue developing, but is another d-man off the books next year. Yakupov gets a chance to show something and thus be resigned, or they can let him go. I'd take Yakupov's potential over a non-1st round draft pick.
I'd do that deal in a heartbeat but honestly, I wouldn't mind a pick either - maybe swap Nail Yakupov with a draft pick of some kind and I think that'd be even better
Yakupov > 2nd rounder
Yakupov < two 2nd rounders
that's the line I would draw I think. in addition to potential character issues, yak is a RW and the flyers need a LW more. voracek and simmer kinda have the top 2 RW spots on lockdown.
Has Coburn even played a game this year? You'd never know it...somethings wrong with the guy and it's not all injuries. Either way has to be a smart trade as he can eat minutes.
He misses Timmo making him look good is what's wrong with him.
He has regressed, is inconsistent and is no longer very good is what's wrong with him!
